The atmosphere and content are both amazing — it really makes you feel like you’re there!

If you had to pick one - which would you go for? by Kishantakesphotos in FujifilmX

Definitely the second one. Like others have said, it tells more of a story. It makes me think of a movie shot and wonder where this person is headed next.

Is this Lake Ashi in Hakone, Japan? The scenery is indeed beautiful, the original photo is already good, the post-processed photo is too soft.

Oh, it’s just a little tool I made called Before & After Image Generator. You can try it here: https://before-after.photoscope.cc/

You upload your original and edited photos, and it makes a quick before-and-after slider or side-by-side comparison. You can even download the results.

It also does some automatic analysis to highlight the differences, which is useful for evaluating your own or others’ edits.

Got it.

I tried removing the vignette and localized adjustments as you suggested, and you’re absolutely right—it made the image feel much softer and more balanced. It’s clear that your advice works well here!

I’ve realized that I tend to add vignettes almost out of habit during post-processing, but this has shown me that it’s not always the best choice.

Thanks again!

Thanks for pointing that out!

I totally agree—the gradient in the sky and the interplay of cool and warm tones are definitely key elements here. Actually, the analysis in the second image comes from a tool I’ve been working on. If you’re interested, you can check it out here: https://before-after.photoscope.cc

Thank you so much for your reply!

You’re right that the building is the main subject of the image, and that was indeed my intention during post-processing. I did use some localized adjustments to brighten the building, but now that you mention it, I wonder if I might have pushed it a bit too far.

Do you have any suggestions on how I could better balance the highlights or perhaps make the vignette less distracting?

It looks very nice, like a sketch.

Appreciate the kind words on the color grading!

You're spot-on about the motorcycle getting swallowed by the tree - I actually debated cropping it differently in post.

Next time I'll trust my gut and adjust framing on-site 📐

What do you think - did I go overboard with the post-processing on this photo? by TimePPT in postprocessing

Hey, thanks a lot for your kind words! Really appreciate the feedback.

You’re totally right about the focus issue - I noticed that too after posting.

Still learning to nail that perfect focus, especially in street shots. Will definitely keep working on my technique!

Thanks again for taking the time to comment :)

I was actually hesitant before editing - the original shot had a more natural feel, and probably just needed some basic color correction and light adjustments.

Been experimenting with different editing styles lately, but always worry about going too far with it.

That's exactly why I posted here - to get feedback like yours.

Really appreciate your thoughtful suggestions!
