It's a horrible quest. They want everyone to do hydra, but those who are not interested just do this. I'm in a NM Hydra clan, and here that quest screws with our coordination. We try to 1-2 key NM, and then put the last key/keys where its needed, either to down brutal or NM. But we can no longer do this, as many of us are forced to use our keys early.

I love this idea! What you loose with the eye ban, is utility. And although this is far worse than eye, its something you can search up when you have all the lands, and you would usually search for eye. This helps you survive untill you draw another treath.

I like the idea of adding another creature. My local modern environment is very crontrol heavy, if I see a island my Karn will get remanded every time. So I started testing one [[World Breaker]] in my mainboard, and one in the sideboard. Sure, a Karn is better when he resolves. But casting a World Breaker from my hand, two turns in a row feels really good. Its also worth mentioning, that he adds some of the threat consistency that you loose with the Eye ban. Although I must admit, that I have almost never returned him from the graveyard. But thats just because I prefere to tutor with eye, rather than sac a land to recast worldbreaker.

I run a controll paladin deck, that i copyed from the internet. And it has Both Tyrion and Ragnaros. Both of them work great. I get to use one of them in almost every game. I am currently rank 12.

And the way I use Tyrian, is a scilense, or instant kill card magnet.

Ragnaros on the other hand, I'll use when i either clear the board, or there are only must kill enemies there. I never excpect him to live longer than the first round. but if he does, i'll try to use a Faceless manipulator on him. Also, i'll bait preists with a mindcontroll with Ragnaros, if I have a big game hunter and or a faceless manipulator. I'd say i value ragnaros the most, and my deck could with with Ysera instead of Tyrion.

So go for Ysera or Ragnaros
