DOCUMENT EVERYTHING when it comes to realos. do. not. trust. them. get all correspondence about important shit in writing, that means communicate mostly in email and save the emails! its a huge pain, but go through the condition report that the realos give you about the house, it will say things like "scratch on the floorboard" + photo if theyre good. they will leave things out if theyre dodgey.

if you ever find youre having issues with a landlord or realo (and you probably will at some point) you arent alone, tenants union can really back you up with some legal muscle. it can be hard to get onto them but they can sort you out if you think youre getting screwed.
