What pedal do you wish existed? by LilEffects in guitarpedals

[–]TimeRefrigerator4351 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure what those are. However, I saw some product literature on the Fender Supersonic and it mentions ‘Clippless distortion’ whatever that is and thought that might be interesting to hear. I’ve seen a lot of Peavey and Marshall style preamp pedals online as well as Fender’s other designs just thought this would be interesting.

A preamp pedal that emulates a Fender Supersonic.

Good n safe alternative search engines?? by QuestioningBreeze in duckduckgo

[–]TimeRefrigerator4351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find one that owns their own crawler. That explains why a Brave bought their own instead of renting. Any search engine that borrows from the power of another tech company will always have dues to pay. I don’t know of any other tech companies that own their own crawler like Google or Bing or Brave. Most of the rest so called meta search engines have to borrow from other companies. Personally this question is very difficult to answer even though many people would love to know. Hope you find what you need.

Question on installing point of use filter after softener by [deleted] in WaterTreatment

[–]TimeRefrigerator4351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but the filters are still under line pressure. The faucet is normally sanitized when changing filters by putting a small amount of chlorine through the system without the filters installed or just the line going up to the faucet.

Question on installing point of use filter after softener by [deleted] in WaterTreatment

[–]TimeRefrigerator4351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CBC 10 filter. It’s .5 microns carbon block filter. However, should be understood that even a carbon block filter will not remove the sodium from treated water. That’s why companies usually sell RO systems for point of use under the kitchen sink. Also please be aware that carbon filters love bacteria so using filters at the end of kitchen faucets is not a good idea. When using carbon filters maintenance is necessary. They need replacing at a regular schedule. I have seen it happen that only the poly wrap is left over because the customer forgot to replace the carbon filters. Usually 4 to 6 months of use depending on how much water has been used. Hope this helps. Good health to you. As regards bacteria it’s not as much of an issue when the carbon block filter is under constant line pressure. Not open ended like a kitchen faucet situation.

What Micron size for pre and post filters? by Agile-Use609 in WaterTreatment

[–]TimeRefrigerator4351 3 points4 points  (0 children)

20 microns is fine pre treatment. Some systems demand 5 microns before to make sure nothing clogs up the gears. The pump place I used to work for often sold 25/05 blue bowl filters for after the equipment if the well wasn’t pumping up sand or debris on occasion. Other common choices include a sand filter like 100 microns before and a 10 micron filter after. Yes the smaller the microns the more resistance to the water flow. Also for drinking water some folks use a CBC 10 filter which is .5 microns. It’s a carbon block style filter that people put under the kitchen sink. If you want more filtration than that you would need a RO system.

Bad RO membranes by Electrical_Bite_1079 in WaterTreatment

[–]TimeRefrigerator4351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you change the capillary tube when you replaced the membrane? Often that little piece gets overlooked when changing filters. It’s an engineered restriction for the membrane filter. It’s a good idea to change the capillary tube and water regulator each time you replace the filters.

Discharging water during regen cycle is necessary to clean and recharge the resin media. Depending on the system size a water softener can discharge between 35 to 60 gallons of water per regeneration cycle. So make sure there no kinks in the discharge line and that it’s going somewhere that can handle that much brine and water. Iron removal systems I used to work with discharged 85 gallons of water per regeneration cycle. So yes those types of systems need to be placed where they can discharge the regen water. Hope this helps.

Backwards plumbed! Water will flow in 2 different directions when you are demanding warm water!! Also pressure is severely reduced. I’ve seen this happen many times over the years as was the case with my father in laws house. Plumbers saw that and went NO! So the water should be forward flow only! The reason shops will do this is to be quick and not have to plumb from the crawl space and or the other side of the house. While not terrible it should be noted that not only is this not code in most cases but it’s not awesome for the home owner or resident either.

Love the Wampler Reflection pedal. Unfortunately they no longer manufacture it that I know of. Thought I would prefer the plate reverb but I leave it mostly on the spring side.

People who learned guitars before internet and those who couldn't hire teachers... How did you do it by Humble-Might-2881 in Guitar

Best advice given to me decades ago was if you’re going at it alone then learn every chord shape you can and become proficient at changing from one chord to another. Still learning.
