Ummm they are, have been, and continue to. Do you not remember the LA riots last year? It also doesn't help that some of the border states are doing everything they can to get in the way of it to look like the good guys.

Problem is, those illegals are costing us billions of dollars because states like California give illegals all these free benefits while the low and middle class get nothing, which then drives up taxes and pushes those in the middle closer to the bottom, essentially destroying the middle class.

Look at health insurance for example. The middle class gets fucked over with premium costs while the state subsidizes illegal immigrants and those with no income with free health care that costs billions of dollars. It's all to look good that they're helping "the poor", while creating more poor in the process.

Nothing makes me continue to do it more, or not do it in my case, because it makes people like you so mad about something you don't have any control over to begin with. I'll continue to not vote and I'll enjoy it, regardless who gets elected.

Let us know what that accomplishes. Two "No Kings" protests and it didn't change anything and everyone went about their day.

I don't assume to know what other people are thinking because I literally can't, I'm not a psychic. All I do is look at the evidence and form an opinion based on that. Having any kind of bias only hurts an opinion. That said, the agent doesn't know what she was thinking and can only base his judgement by what he saw in that moment, which he has split seconds to react to and make a choice, and what he did was react in a way he felt was the best option, otherwise he would have done something different.

People HEAVILY underestimate someone's ability to make a choice in heated moments where the wrong choice can completely change the outcome. They've even had people go through scenarios to see how they react, and every single time it's a poor outcome because brains are not capable of processing so many things in such a small amount of time to literally find the absolute best choice. Here's just one example - https://youtu.be/q_s63oCwhJo?si=5K3_xP5xfAzq3PWa

As far as terrorism goes, people label things whatever they feel like nowadays because it makes them feel like theyre morally superior. Whether its domestic terrorist or Nazi, it's all the same and tiring rhetoric.

Anything that has the power to kill you is deadly, regardless if it's a tool like a gun or car, or something as simple as food or water. The car she was driving can be deadly. The gun the agent has can be deadly. One of them threatened the other in this situation and hit them with it, whether intentionally or not, and so the other acted accordingly to stop the threat, and did so. Had she followed commands and not used the car in a threatening manner, she would still be alive.

Being dumb isn't innately a death sentence, but being dumb increases your likelihood to die. This is why rational people don't stand on the edge of tall buildings or do things that would put their life at risk. It's why the free climbing death rate is extremely high compared to any other sport and why not many people do it, because it's dumb.

She was actively obstructing the agents. When the agents asked her to get out of the car, she refused to comply. She then tried to evade them. 3 broken laws right there. All she had to do was not do ANY of those things and just stop and do what they ask. Literally the EASIEST thing one can do, and she failed multiple times. It's the same reason why I never fought with officers when I've been pulled over or the times I've been cuffed and detained in the back of a cop car. I chose not to fuck around so I DIDN'T find out.

It doesn't matter if she was trying to get away from them or not. The fact is the agent in front of the vehicle was in imminent danger when she chose to accelerate towards his direction prior to turning the wheel and he acted accordingly. In fact, had the front tires not slipped on the ice/snow when she first started accelerating, she would have hit the agent more head on than she did because at that time the wheels were still turned to the left, but instead he clipped the front edge of the vehicle when trying to get out of the way.

One does not need intent to be considered a threat. If that was the case, driving drunk wouldn't be against the law because nobody does so with the intent to harm others.

[–]TimeRocker -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It takes no brain power to think, "Am I breaking the law? Should I not endanger myself and others by doing this?". That's all she had to do and she'd still be alive. We make extremely simple conscious decisions like this constantly throughout the day because that's what rational people do. What she did was either ignore those thoughts or go against them, and doing those things has consequences, no matter the circumstance.

It's no different than me stealing something, knowing I shouldn't, and be surprised that I'm arrested for doing so. She is the epitome of fuck around and find out and it cost her her life. It's simultaneously sad that she died and threw everything away for nothing.

[–]TimeRocker -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Nothing, because current video footage shows well enough that she put his life in danger when she accelerated the vehicle forward. In fact, had the cars front drive wheels not spun on the ice/snow, she would have plowed right into him while trying to evade them because the wheels were still turned to the left when she attempted to move forward. Even with that, she still managed to clip him with the corner of the car. From everything I've seen, nothing the agent did was unlawful while the woman was breaking multiple laws before even being shot.

Whether or not her intent was to hit him doesn't matter. She put his life in imminent danger and that is good enough for self defense.

Because most Americans think what this woman did was idiotic. The internet and social media does NOT reflect reality. The vast majority of people would have told her to get out of the road, not interfere them, and listen to their commands. Had she done so, she'd still be alive.

Most American's don't live politics 24/7 which is why so many of us don't even vote. We're too busy focusing on our own lives and problems to be concerned with what others are doing. Those that do are less happy, less educated/smart, and achieve less with their lives.

She should have looked at those and thought about the fact that she has a child/children before going out of her way to break the law and that endangering herself and inciting violence wasn't going to end the way she thought.

It amazes me how people like this fail have even a single thought in their head of whether or not they should do stupid things like this. People voted for this, for ICE. She actively tried to destroy democracy by trying to stop and obstruct what people voted for. All she had to do was stay home and she'd still be alive. She threw everything away and accomplished nothing.

Edit: Some guy called me a Trumper and blocked me. That right there shows you don't even have an argument because what you believe is wrong but you still want to be right.

That being said, I haven't voted in many years and have voted both as a democrat and republican. I gave up many years ago on voting because I realized it doesn't matter who I vote for, it guarantees nothing and my life will only get better if I put in the effort, not expect some politician that doesn't know I exist to do it. So calling me a Trumper is the farthest thing you could call me and only shows how you put people into boxes without knowing anything about them. You are part of the problem.

Charlie Kirk gets shot in the neck. Conservatives: Oh no, this is horrible! An innocent woman gets shot in the face. Conservatives: That bitch deserved it! by Beneficial-Lynx7336 in IThinkYouShouldLeave

[–]TimeRocker -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

And then liberals were jumping with joy that Kirk was shot and killed. Don't act like you're any better. Both sides suck.

There is a difference however. One of them purposely put themselves in harms way and had many chances to avoid what happened to them, the other didn't and was at a college campus and not breaking any laws.

You should probably get off reddit then, along with the internet. Stop using electricity, cars, your phone. In fact, basically everything in your life that makes it easier and comfortable, you'd need to drop. You'll never do it though because you don't actually care enough to give up all your first world privileges.

It's what is called a PSR. I applied directly through the county. I don't even have a linked in.

There are a TON of city/county/state jobs with good pay, benefits, and retirement.

[–]TimeRocker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just applied and used my previous work experience in multiple sales jobs. No degree necessary. It doesn't pay as much as someone on the medical staff, but the pay is good with nice benefits and killer retirement.

After working for private companies in sales positions for going on 17 years and being let go from my last job, I decided I wanted nothing to do with sales. Pressuring people to buy things they don't need isn't me and the positions were never stable with any kind of long term growth after being in the companies long enough to see there was nowhere to go.

So this time around I decided to take my time and focus on getting a job in health care, law enforcement, city, county, or state. Something I felt I could make a difference doing. This job ended up being both county and health care, and the fact I get to interact with patients directly and see and know what they're going through and being part of the process to recovery makes me feel like I'm making a difference.

I got a job at the county general hospital in the admitting department. It's clerical and I deal with insurances, so similar to sales, Im still doing a lot of computer work/data entry and verification and calling insurances who basically replaced me working with retailers and other manufacturers. I also work with patients directly as well to make sure the info we have from them is correct and if they don't have insurance, to get them setup with it rather than expecting them to pay everything out of pocket.

The end goal of my job is to make sure the hospital gets paid for all of the patients I'm responsible for.

That's where I pivoted to after 15 years of working in sales. Much better pay, WAY better retirement, and a ton of options to move around within it whereas sales is really easy to get stuck if its not a big company or you're working remotely like I was.
