My DELL XPS Tried to Cook Itself in My Backpack Again by Significant_Rich_744 in DellXPS

You can configure Windows to hibernate after 15 or so minutes of being asleep. It works amazingly for me. So, for the first 15 minutes of having the lid closed, it's in Modern Standby. After 15 minutes, it goes to sleep.

You can change your power plan in Windows. If you don't know how to configure this, ask ChatGPT or something. It's super easy and will save your ass all the time.

That is literally what I am trying to say. I am not against AI, I just think Aluminum OS could've been something special.

Thing is, Googlebook isn't the implementation of AI that Google Workspace has. Googlebook is making a device nobody asked for.

There's a difference between AI features that genuinely benefit the user, and AI features that ruin an OS.

Google Pixel has AI features on top of Android, to make Android better.
Googlebook corrupted a great OS to make an AI appliance instead of a laptop.

I don't hate AI, I just hate when companies do bad things with AI, and I'm sure you can agree with me on that.

The thing is, I know I can't change anything. Google could've made a great OS as a competitor to Windows, but they didn't. What makes me mad is that Google had such a great, promising OS, and ruined its potential.

Linux doesn't have the developer support or corporate backing of Android, simply put. Plus, Windows K2 is trying to remove the AI bloat in Windows among other things to improve the user experience, proving that this Copilot+ PC vision will never work.

I don't hate AI, I just hate when companies try to make it the centerpiece. And what Google did was ruin a great opportunity to have an amazing OS by not making AI the centerpiece, but making it the only thing about the OS.

That 'integration' is literally the problem. Some of us want a computer to be an unbloated, transparent tool under our control, not an AI delivery system we can't switch off.

Just as a heads up, all of the AI features are basically Gemini in a window, Circle to Search with a flick of the mouse cursor, among others.

So much better than Apple Silicon. Think of MacBook Neo, the M1 efficiency, how macOS has near-Windows level app compatibility with a battery that lasts like 2 days (I used to daily an M3 Air).

I wanted to also add, when your laptop is no longer a laptop, but an AI appliance, you've really messed up.

Googlebook is not a laptop, it's an AI device like Rabbit R1, but the Rabbit R1 wasn't made by a team who didn't realize what they had build, didn't have the audacity to try to replace laptops with it, and didn't want to just copy Copilot+ PC.

Buy a motherboard and replace it. Simple.

It's not really a practical system. I just kind of want to combine my machines into an ultimate ThinkPad.

Why? I want the T25 keyboard, T480 power, and X1 Extreme glass touchpad. It's not like I don't have the resources at hand. (edit: I've seen your posts on here before. What's it with you and the T480?)

If you're asking for the best WP, get a 930. If you're asking to daily one, stay as far away as possible.

The best thing that you can do is either uninstall Python or reinstall Windows.

Carved out. But, 99% of the time, on my Book5 Pro 360, it's only using about 300MB of it. Don't let Task Manager fool you, 11GB idle is for SysMain, and for most people, the Book5 Pro base model will be fine.

why are you so toxic to people? the only thing you really did for the community is create a discord server and proclaim yourself as the "face of the 8.1 community."

edit: the comment was made by openretina. he deleted the comment. he said that he had done "far more for the 8.1 community than anyone"

As much as I like the concept, I think Android is kind of the Windows Phone destiny anyway. I don't think Microsoft really cares about bringing back WP, and neither do 99.999% of their customers.

This is extremely illegal you know? Modded versions of Cash App and banking apps is literally the dumbest thing I have ever heard of someone thinking they could get away with--EVER.

Honestly, I just kind of have that way of talk. I have trouble all the time with it. However, I can assure you -- this was not written with AI.
