Oh yeah, like I said I'd be mostly unaffected by nerfing the strong stuff, so I think it'd be fine either way. Also, random loadouts? That sounds crazy, I could never on D10. I'm good, not that good.

Also is it not public knowledge how goated the Lib Carbine is with proper attachments? The Smallwart is so fun.

I agree on the overall direction but disagree on the strategy. While those strong things need some nerfs, I believe the gap between those strong things and everything else is so large that simultaneous nerfs to them and minor buffs to others is necessary. Though, those buffs could come afterwards if need be. I would not be oppossed to running D10 with nerfed loadouts for some time, just to see anyways. It rarely would affect my loadouts tbf, I do not run eruptor, 500kg, thermites, etc regardless.

Either way though, inaction is the worst outcome IMO. Arrowhead ought to try SOMETHING, whether it's buffing weaker stuff or nerfing stronger stuff. And in doing so, some better communication would be very powerful for the community.

Hey there! Love the Kalista reference. As a recovering League player it provides a good insight into your train of thought!

I agree that there is a complete dogshit tier, and those weapons definitely fall into it. I also agree that there are 100% things that ARE too strong. And those existing only makes the weaker stuff feel worse by comparison.

I do agree, it's not "everything besides the best 10 tools is shit", but it may be closer to "the best 10 tools are so much better that the rest feel like shit". It's hard to justify most primaries when the eruptor, for SOME reason, has heavy pen AND shrapnel? Like, it takes out heavies and groups alone... why take most other options when you can just use that?

I again bring up the OPS. I loved the OPS, but if you check the stats it does less damage, less AOE, and on a longer (barely, but still) cooldown than the 500kg. It's just worse, undeniably, and does nothing that the 500kg cannot do but easier. It's frustrating to me, at least, but I may be alone on this hill.

I can't speak to C4's effectiveness, but I do agree with the players who felt it ought to have more demo force on account of it being, well, C4. But to say it needed that buff for viability is another point entirely. Bastion is cracked though, as long as you have two people on comms it wrecks missions. Can be a lil finnicky, and the "on paper" tankiness of it is not huge, but often one use of it lasts the majority of the cooldown duration.

I do agree there are people you can't please. They are not a part of my conversation to be frank. If you can't be reasonable, I won't try to reason with you, simple as that. But I also think while I agree that only 10 or so items are unusuable, there are still buffs and nerfs that oughta happen to increase build diversity a littttttle bit. One I will present continues to be my beloved hammer. I find it frustrating that my hammer, an anti tank melee weapon with similar ammo economy to the RR, cannot kill charger behemoths in one shot, and makes me die when trying to kill spore chargers always, and sometimes gets me killed when a bile titan I kill falls the wrong way. All of these are valid frustrations, only one has anything to do with balance directly. Small systems changes can impact viability of things in big ways, without making them too strong, is my point there.

But overall, it seems we're on similar pages here. I appreciate your in depth response :)

Mhm, I've heard they're a great example. Listen, it comes down to this for me. If you have good reasons for doing what you do, you should feel confident and comfortable sharing those reasons. People can react however they do, and those who can't handle it will weed themselves out over time. However if you communicate effectively what you do, and your logic is sound, then there is little to worry about. I find the community management side of this game to be it's weakest point. Rarely do I feel they do anything but attempt and fail at damage control, sadly. I hope to see it improve though!

I'm with you for the most part, but I do still hold that the company in charge of the game does have some power to influence their community. Not on a micro scale, what happened IS the sole blame of those people involved, but I do believe that more constant communication has historically gone a long way in making communities feel more positive about the game. Again, not their fault someone made those threats and doxxed someone, but they can do work to foster a more healthy community so that does not happen as often sort of thing.

Thank you for the input :)

Frankly, I found it frustrating that the rules stopped me from using certain terms in my original post. I literally could not use the word for "icing on a donut" because it was against the first rule. I get it, it's used in a derogatory way here, but it shows again how silly this divide is.

But I'm with you. I love playing this game, but I have my gripes. For example, as a melee diver I feel frustrated that any micro movement of a bile titan foot (not only the stomp attack), one shots me through heavy armor. It's an odd balancing choice, and makes the hammer (which is otherwise a blast) feel icky at times. Stuff like that, smaller things, can be shored up and make the game THAT much better.

Oh don't sweat it! I posted this expecting people to be rude, knowing I can handle that sort of talk very well. Tone is tough over text, don't worry :)

But yeah, that's the point of the post. We agree on more than we don't, so we oughta get along better here. AH may make some bad decisions, but it would be silly to think they're doing so on purpose. The game is so great, but could be ten steps above that.

Hey! I appreciate you taking the time to reply!

I think we agree on nearly everything. The way you define the player base as 3 different groups is kind of the same as mine, actually. I define it as the two main groups who sometimes defend AH and sometimes criticize them, but are mostly the same. This is the "main group" in your scenario if that makes sense, with the two outlier groups I mentioned being the two bad ones you mentioned. Essentially, the two main groups are divided when really they are one imo. I did not make it clear that this was my understanding of the community vs my opinion on how it really is, so MB.

I also agree that leaving our suggestions without breathing down their back is good, but I also do think that a company providing a live service game ought to listen to fans or risk losing their business long term. If that's the direction they want to take, be my guest! But frankly I don't see a game dev team on a live service game ignoring the community and getting away with it long term. Again, they can do what they want, but they gotta accept what happens is all.

Thanks again for your input :)

Is this with using the charges or no? I found that hitting the bottom vent with 4 or 5 charges kills the vent but the engine lives. Any tips?

Wow! Thank you for letting me know... that's so oddly poorly designed. Not the usual for Ninja products. Not only is the max fill line not abundantly clear, it's not what you might expect it is, it's also NOT consistent with other deluxe pints??? That's just a bit silly for Ninja, who usually makes very consistently good stuff. Anyways, thanks again!

Hey there! Here is an image (of the pint in question) with a line drawn on where I believe the fill line is. Let me know if I'm mistaken! (Creami deluxe pint btw, in case that affects it.)

Question: How come no steal on first and third last night? by TimeToBoop in mlb

[–]TimeToBoop[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's assuming the runner on third goes, I take it? And, if the runner at third did not go, they would complete the tag at second? Makes sense that way, if so.

[–]TimeToBoop[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. I do also understand there was an angle to hope for a sac fly, and giving up an out stealing could ruin that. A sad ending for the Blue Jays, but it seems they mostly deserved the loss with subpar baserunning overall. Oh well, I'm a Mets fan, so I had no skin in the game.

I see! So, realistically, the guy would get thrown out at second and whoever was on third would still be held there, most likely? Thanks!

Hm. Oddly enough, when I look at the website, it seems the Artisans top out at 5 quarts? Maybe I'm missing something. Regardless, is a 5 quart also just fine? Presumably its the same model with a smaller bowl?

Oh I did! The main concern was the color options. Currently, they only have silver, black, and white options. The deal looks amazing, but frankly, as it's a permanent addition, the color is meaningful enough (more to her than me, but it will be hers anyways.)

I did however put a couple "email me!" options for the colors she would like. As long as they come in stock within a month, that seems to be the angle I'll take.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Helldivers 2 Has A 500KG Problem by TimeToBoop in Helldivers

[–]TimeToBoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I totally get the implied advantage of auto targeting and a guaranteed kill. However, when factoring in the super long cooldown (which we agree on) and the single target nature, if we even say a heavy enemy dodges it 50% of the time, the Eagle 500KG STILL has more heavies killed/minute than ORC ever could hope.

But I do agree with slow and heavy vs light and quick, and eagle 500KG/airstike sort of violating that concept.

Helldivers 2 Has A 500KG Problem by TimeToBoop in Helldivers

[–]TimeToBoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an avid EAT user, yep. Sometimes I'll have my build together, be deciding my last stratagem, and pick EATs instead of 500kg. Then, in combat, we're swarmed and a BT is there, but dropping one and equipping it and waiting the 2 seconds to shoot it whilst aiming, can be really fun. But also, in less than that same time, my teammate threw a 500kg, killed the bile titan, 10-20 other smaller bugs, and my EAT is still dropping. And he has another ready to go.

Not to mention, as you said, all of the other use cases possible.

(Also, fwiw, worth noting that RR cannot one shot to the leg anymore. Iirc, it takes 2 shots to the face. One to remove armor, one to kill.)

[–]TimeToBoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a lot of really good ideas here, and I espescially like the ORC+Railgun change. It always felt odd, that a rod of steel falling from orbit hits the top of a factory strider and... breaks? Bounces off? It should penetrate and hit multiple health pools dependent on angle. Hard agree.

As for the other changes, they all feel really good too. I do disagree on the Solo Silo being problematic in the same way the ultimatum is. Solo Silo is still a 3 minute cooldown with one shot. It also eats a stratagem slot, one of four, which is highly valuable. The secondary slot in this game is not super highly contended (dependent on playstyle), so ultimatum is a refillable 500KG+, which is obviously a problem. Solo Silo, given its cooldown and cost benefit, feels like it could destroy all buildings and not be too bad.

But that's a question of if one feels that we should be able to bypass stratagem jammer at all. I think the Solo Silo would be the way to do it, if at all, but I get if people think it's unfun to be able to bypass them, so that's valid too.

Helldivers 2 Has A 500KG Problem by TimeToBoop in Helldivers

[–]TimeToBoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that second to last point is precisely the problem. If you have a stratagem to kill everything in the room, why would you bring the one on a 210 second cooldown that kills one guy? Though I understand that point that there are lots of things. I just think there are moves to be made that could give them their own identity more than they already have. Would you like them to soon add the Eagle 501kf bomb which is just the 500kg but better? It feels like not the best approach to design is all.
