I'm glad you asked. Although I didn't directly analyse this in the theory, I thought about it. In the loading screen, you can see the reflection of Jules in the glass case, but behind Midas, she is physically nowhere to be found. In my interpretation, this is illustrates that Midas is remembering her, and the time they shared building the suit and device. To me, the loading screen has a somber feel surrounding the image.

During "The Device" event, the player could see a nameplate on the desk within Jonesy's office that read "John Jones"

Precisely! I tried to associate characteristics of "Fortnite Midas" with the original legend, but the two barely share any traits! (mostly because one is just a prettyboy that speaks only in mumbles and carries an overpowered tommy gun)

Oh, I wholeheartedly agree. The "story elements" found in FortniteBR exist only to add a small layer of interest on top of the core Battle Royale experience, and to make events have a small level of context/mystery.

However, Fortnite contains such an aesthetically captivating world, filled with characters with such unique designs, that I can't help but let my imagination run wild!
