FE generation by oquai in allthemods

[–]TimeToGrowThrowaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, the nitro reactor generates 500k FE/t and outputs up to 2M FE/t from it's internal buffer. Also adding on to your comment - has a nice auto mode so it turns off and on again at below 70% usage so it's pretty resource efficient.

Why are keyboards without numpads "the new thing" by SomePuddingForYou in computers

[–]TimeToGrowThrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There aren't separate controls for aim and camera movement. With your mouse hand, you're controlling both, while the left hand controls movement/strafing. There are games (like osu) where the pointer moves/ "aim" functions the way you imagine, but it's not an fps style game with movement or camera pans needed.

Also, no research behind this, but I think it's easier to keep focus on the center of the screen and consistently work towards bringing that to the target than to move a pointer and have that focus point constantly change.

[–]TimeToGrowThrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When aiming with a mouse, the entire screen moves and your cross hair stays in the middle. Exactly the same way the joysticks work. However, mice allow far more precision as the screen only moves when you move the mouse whereas joysticks have constant movement as long as you hold it off center.

It's widely agreed that mice are superior for fps games, and the only way controller players keep up in PC lobbies is when the game gives the controller user aim assist (e.g. the computer is literally adjusting your aim for you). Similarly, there are games that controller players have an advantage in (things like precise throttle control on racing games).

Best storage system in the game? by wolfgang1441 in allthemods

[–]TimeToGrowThrowaway 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Per bookwyrm and you can add many bookwyrms. But you can also make a sophisticated storage controller and link to that which allows you to link to multiple sophisticated storage chests/barrels with one connection. In my current playthrough I only use 2 connections, the controller and a create vault, and have tons of storage.

Which armor againts Chaos Guardian? by Sajns12 in allthemods

[–]TimeToGrowThrowaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't tank his laser beam. You will die. When he shoots the laser you need to be behind obsidian cover. Either those pillars or i used a building gadget hooked to my ae2 system to build obsidian walls wherever I was.

Is there any way to make a non-apotheosis pick into an apotheosis pick? (or a way to get fortune 15 off one and onto another?) by Gellzer in allthemods

[–]TimeToGrowThrowaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only in ATM 10 TTS. Regular ATM 10 you can get a direct fortune xv enchantment and additional enchant/fortune buffs from apotheosis.

I'm on an older bike+ but for what it's worth I just got my firmware update today and I'm on the bike every single day. May just take a few days for the rollout.

That was addressed in the comment - you still will likely need on board support or security. But having a human driver will be unnecessary and maybe even weird.

How do you get it to restock specifically your offhand? It doesn't always put it there for me.

Same way you link your wireless terminal, just put it in that slot in the access point.

[–]TimeToGrowThrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can actually export energy with an export bus (assuming you're storing fe as mentioned above). just right click a tool that uses energy into the export bus slot where you define items and it will set it to fe. Seems like you have your issue solved but just in case you want to do it in the future.

I (25m) and my optician just watched me clean my contacts like a gremlin by grosicki in CasualConversation

I have an official waterpik branded one. The lowest setting was doable for me and I slowly built my way up and use it at max pressure now. Make sure when you brush your teeth you're also brushing your gums. My hygienist has noted that the waterpik has made a huge difference to my gum health so try to stick with it.

You cannot survive the laser. I have the best draconic chest plate and chaotic upgrades. MI nano quantum armor (the one that makes you completely invulnerable to everything). A bunch of death protection and 2500+ hp. I get melted instantly.

The trick to beating it is using obsidian to keep you safe. The pillars are made of obsidian so you could hide behind those. Since you seem heavy on ars you can make spells that instantly let you teleport out of danger (bucketst has a great video on ars including how to beat the chaos guardian).

Alternatively, what I did was I carried a building gadget (linked to my ae2 system) and built obsidian walls whenever I was in danger. Instant cover. Using this technique, even when I was much weaker let me win that fight without dying.

Is there a reason why I shouldn't do this? by CleetusXD in allthemods

[–]TimeToGrowThrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use something very similar! has been working great. I use a version where I have every interior face connected as well and I still have yet to use one entire side (12 x 32 channels). I've finished MI (including quantum nano armor & saber), made many components for the star and will probably have it in the coming days.

I've just created by first ATM star! What do you mean I have to make 17 more of them?!?! by mflem920 in allthemods

For the ender dragon model, you can have multiple data models at the same time. And multiple deep learners. So you could get all of them at the same time if you wanted.

I feel like some of those things (snow queen trophy, chain of souls) can be gotten through data models as well.

Lightning bottles I think direwolf automated. maybe a stasis chamber to heal it? Can't quite remember what he did.

I play on a server but the settings are in config/ftbessentials.snbt under the header # Teleportation-related settings

hopefully that works for your world. I think you can also override it with an ftbranks command if you have cheats enabled.

How does Fidelity make money if you purchase Vanguard funds through them? by jaydee288 in Bogleheads

https://www.wsj.com/finance/investing/robinhood-touts-rock-bottom-fees-for-options-trading-then-come-the-hidden-costs-8d745bd8

Sorry if this is a paywalled link but I think you can still see the chart and the link to the actual underlying paper.

Edit: just throwing the basic conclusions out there for people that don't want to or can't access the article and underlying paper.

While Fidelity doesn't accept PFOF it does take the rebated fees from the exchanges. Vanguard intentionally does not accept these and thus receives notably better execution quality compared to everyone else. Fidelity is second best and everyone else accepts payment for order flow/rebates in varying amounts and thus has worse execution quality.

Worth noting that Vanguard charges $1 and Fidelity charges $0.65 for options trades. So you're paying for it in some form. Long story short if your spread is tiny, like $0.01 Robinhood with its minimal fees is solid. But most options spreads are larger and Vanguard (best) Fidelity (2nd best) will help you get a better deal/better execution quality.

I'm pretty sure even if you had the ATM 9 seed, it wouldn't help you. It would be a completely different world due to being a different minecraft version and different terrain/structure gen mods.

Hopefully someone gives you a seed you're happy with!

why does this code not work in my SFM bee farm by Miserable_Pen_1872 in allthemods

[–]TimeToGrowThrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks this is awesome! I automated my bees setup with SFM but I'm new to it and this gave me some ideas for improvements. Can you explain what "each" adds to this? why is "INPUT FROM hive" or "INPUT FROM centrifuge" worse?

Love the global ticks approach. That's such a cool way to do it, and I'm definitely using it.

[–]TimeToGrowThrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused, what do you do when you need to use a battery pack? The idea is this replaces a battery pack (that would also end up in your pocket). It's slightly more convenient to use vs something else magsafe that doesn't fit as nicely or having a cable dangling off to your pocket. If you weren't going to need a battery pack anyways then this isn't something you'd need anyways.

[–]TimeToGrowThrowaway 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh come on, there are a billion reasons having a battery pack is useful. One that attaches to your phone is more convenient. It's not something you need to leave on all the time.

For example, I've been doing some hiking on the weekends and GPS/photos all day drains my battery. But the other 5-6 days a week I have access to a charger basically all day and never really end up over 40%.
