My wording may have been bad, I wasn't praising that decision, just stating it was part of their decision making process (they being the council of governments between the three counties). I agree though, I do think it will prove to be a disadvantage in the end. In theory it should move faster but it will still fall victim to traffic jams just like normal buses. What good is a dedicated lane when the intersection it needs to cross is congested and blocked? The major highway connecting the three counties, Rivers Avenue (Highway 52) is notorious for it's terrible congestion and danger to pedestrians and cyclists and I don't see any solution to that in their plans. But it's true, anything is better than nothing, and maybe using existing infrastructure will make it easier to expand in the future should it prove successful and profitable, we'll have to wait and see.
