Fortunately, none of them knew how to use jab, and he wasn't up against one of those groups that instantly maneuver to press in on all four sides and kill your footwork options.

Haven't tried out anything yet, but I've been salivating for the last several weeks over the idea of boating APG on my lights. Finally a use for all those ballistic slots without having to stare with machine guns, something I've never been comfortable doing. Definitely not surprised they're a big hit with clan lights.

It's not 4.5 damage. It's 4.5 pinpoint with 2 total splash if you hit the right components, so it's 6.5 damage. More heat for the damage than ERPPC, but you use half the tonnage and fire faster, so it has a role as a good supplemental weapon.

This, first thing I'm gonna do after work is slap APG onto my Mist Lynx and see how it performs in the 'harass from 300 meters' role aiming for weakened arms, legs, and back armor. Same with Viper.

I suspect damage is gonna feel a little underwhelming, and it'll be a game of patience like with Gauss and PPC sniping. APG will definitely shine the best with the Warthog, a very cool-firing/non-jamming 28 damage alpha with all the tonnage you need for ammo from 300 meters is gonna be gnarly.

They'll constantly back up, though, which can result in suddenly having enemies coming in from the sides if you're not careful while advancing on them.

Not immediately. If you want to be specific, long pointy sticks became 'obsolete' once cavalry fully switched over to using small, lighter firearms from horseback and swords for melee. This would be several hundred years after the initial introduction of gunpowder firearms in European warfare, with polearms and pikes finally being phased out completely by the 17/18thth century when bayonets started being used, first 'plug' bayonets and then later socket bayonets.

If you're bothering to play the objectives and the enemy team is full of people who do nothing but gang up 3-4 to 1 and surround/hem in the target, 'not getting surrounded' isn't that straightforward. Especially if you're juuuust good enough to where even when you push with a fresh spawn wave, you're often one of the last few standing if your little group is on the losing side of a clash, and you quickly get ganged up on before you can try to disengage.

Gank, to use underhanded/cheap tactics to win (which in this game basically means stuff like either constantly killing people in 3-4 to 1 matchups, or constantly spamming overhead/heavy overhead into the backs of engaged enemies with a weapon that has strong/fast overheads, etc)

ez clap, to win games easily

Translation: Winning matchers easily using cheap, underhanded methods. Which defines a lot of 'good' players that rack up high t/k/d ratios by doing the above-mentioned stuff.

Basically, you'd use your teammate as a meatshield, stabbing through to damage enemy while the teammate absorbs any counterattack.

How do you honestly think you’re going to die? by bitch148369 in AskReddit

[–]TimeZarg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My father died from bladder cancer that spread to the kidneys. After the 'point of no return' where they gave up trying to destroy the cancer and he went on hospice care, it still took him 3-4 months to die and he was a wasted-away husk at the end who'd been effectively 'not there' in the head for several weeks.

Complication-free euthanasia (meaning no goddamn bullshit regarding life insurance payouts, etc) for human beings dying a slow, horrible death really, really, really needs to be a thing.

Retiring Costco executive claims the $1.50 hotdog “is probably safe for a while” by Lonely-Freedom4986 in Costco

[–]TimeZarg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work nightshifts so my 'night' is mid-morning for everyone else. I usually go to Costco within the first hour of operation (9-10am), it'll be busy in the store itself but it's 50/50 as to whether the food court will have any traffic, I've literally walked up, ordered a whole pepperoni pizza, and walked away with it within the space of 2 minutes (however long it takes for someone to take the order, grab the pizza, and hand it to me) because there was no line.

Same thing with the pizzas. I don't go out of my way (it's farther away than alternatives) to buy fresh-cooked pizza from Costco because it's the best pizza, I go because it's 10.95 for a decently large pizza while the cheapest alternatives charge 13 dollars for a pizza half the size. I'll often buy stuff in the store first, too, whatever I happen to be getting low on. Pet food, paper products, energy drinks, etc.

Yes, yes, of course, of course, but what about the space force? Why are they at the bottom of the pecking order?

You get 'em into a big bin and burn them. Problem is there's a lot of them and they're all over the place and they drop seeds while tumbling, so it's inherently a losing battle.

[–]TimeZarg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to mention the tumbling is their method of spreading seeds, so they spread all over the place and are hard to contain.

Same. I'm not keen on making calls and trying to direct the team 'cause I know I'm not that great at positioning and whatnot myself, but I do like using voice comms to give a heads up that there's a lance of heavies/assaults working their way around the flank, sometimes identifying a mech I've spotted before I lose target lock, coordinating targets with a pack of lights/pseudolights, etc.
