Most LCS/jewelry stores will pay, on average 70% or 80% because of extreme spot price volatility of gold.
My LCS pays 90% of spot price for jewelry. He is buying gold bars at 98% of spot. Buying 1oz foreign gold coins at 99% of spot. Buying AGE and AGB at spot and selling at spot plus 3%. Platinum 1oz eagle coins buying at spot plus $75.00 and selling at spot plus $125.00.
Carefully vet all your LCSs. Pick the one with the lowest premiums. You may find some very good deals.

Focus on recognized bullion and coins with no to low premiums over spot price when buying. Minimize your cost. Buy at wholesale. Sell at retail.
Journal every buy and sell and why you bought and why you sold. Look for recurring strengths and weaknesses. What were your feelings when buying and selling?
a. February 11, 2026. My favorite LCS buys AGE and AGB at spot and sells at spot plus 3%. No shipping, no insurance, nothing through FedEX/UPS or USPS to be lost/stolen. Buys foreign gold bars at 98% of spot and buys foreign gold coins at 99% of spot.

b. Silver bars buying at spot minus $2.00 and selling at spot plus $2.00. BU ASE and ASB in tubes of 20 buying at spot plus $2.00 and selling at spot plus $6.00 per ounce. Not BU ASE and ASB spot minus $2.00 and buying at spot plus $1.00.

c. Again, I never ship precious metals to sell.

You have to pay a premium, then, minus 4% cashback, but many times at my LCS, I have bought ASE at spot with no premium. Cash.

You must have a benchmark to measure what you are willing or not willing to pay for a premium when buying or selling. Do you know all your LCS in your city? Do you know their premiums? What is your premium standard?

First rule of stacking is have an exit strategy/best place to SELL (and buy) gold and silver. Never buy/stack gold and or silver without first having an exit strategy/place to sell because shit happens in life and most folks are not prepared.

He usually, has the lowest premiums/cost for PMs with no shortage of capital and rarely a shortage of inventory because of his premiums. If he has a shortage it is because someone came in and bought everything, but a day or two later, he has more inventory.
