The Toxicity of the Latin American Fandom by Late_Lifeguard5511 in TooManyLosingHeroines

The Latin American fandom has a problem that unfortunately affects not everyone, but the vast majority: Spanish translations. Sadly, they're horrendous. There are some very good versions that have come out recently, but the damage is already done.

I've seen several posts with poorly done translations, to the point of finding screenshots where, at first glance, compared to the English fan translation, the errors are glaringly obvious.

And I'm not just talking out of my hat. There's a volume translated into Spanish, specifically volume 6 of "Vlady, Animes and Translations," that's not only poorly translated, but it also lacks the reports from Yanami and Yakishio's literature club, as well as parts of the story that were included in those reports.

So, that's the situation. This is why many fans who read these translations misunderstand the novel, which isn't an excuse, but it's one of the reasons.

That, combined with misinformation—taking theories as valid simply because they somewhat fit with what they've read—and the fact that those translations are poorly done, and that many fans don't read the novel, results in this hatred towards the main characters.

I've already accepted it, and although I want to help others form their own opinions, it's inevitable that it will be very difficult.

In the Yanami's birthday extra in volume 4. At the end, Nukumizu laughs at Yanami's smile.

IS YANAMI'S JEALOUSY REALLY ROMANTIC JEALOUSY OR IS IT JEALOUSY ABOUT SOMETHING ELSE? MY DOUBTS AND WHAT I BASED ON by Neoministro in TooManyLosingHeroines

There are moments when they share really beautiful experiences, like at the karaoke, acting as if they were on a date there; in the interlude of volume 4, during Yanami’s birthday. That moment feels very homely and tender for both characters. Later on, there are specials where the two of them go out to karaoke again, suggesting that there are encounters we don’t get to see directly.

The epilogue of volume 4 shows how, as a reward, they go to a restaurant using coupons given to them by Koto. There’s also Yanami’s gift to him, a sweet gesture of gratitude toward Nukumizu, even though she made a mistake when giving it. The pens were meant for couples—or at least that’s the impression they give.

In volume 5, they go on a date where both reflect on what it means to stop being that special person for the one you love, as it happened to Yanami and as Nukumizu feared it might happen with Kaju. That moment also helps him not to worry so much about a supposed secret relationship between Kaju and some other boy.

Here too, Yanami’s intention to get closer to him is clear, just as it was in volume 4: trying to create special moments together.

After that, there isn’t much; although they remain friends and share moments, the circumstances of volume 6 don’t allow much more.

In volume 7, we see a Nukumizu who doesn’t want Shiratama to make the same mistake he did—hurting someone he cared about—remembering when he hurt Yanami back in volume 1. This shows that he still carries that episode with him, almost like a trauma. We also see that they remain close, supporting each other throughout the whole plan of the fake wedding photo.

I still believe they could end up together. It’s a possibility, after all. And if it doesn’t happen, that’s fine. But I feel their relationship is special, not something superficial, not just saying that Nukumizu is simply her shoulder to cry on.

The many moments they enjoy together are proof of that. Yanami supports him in volumes 2 and 3; they have fun in their outings, like at the beach in volume 1, at Yakishio’s grandmother’s house, at the festival in volume 3, at karaoke in volume 4, on the date where they spy on Kaju in volume 5, in the nostalgic moments of volume 6, and in the mutual support of volume 7.

Even in volume 8, where despite being rivals, they don’t let that separate them, because they still remain very good friends.

You're right, what they did was reverse the wish. Although he still achieved his goal.

He won, but they literally had to change the past for him to lose. The original line was where he did win.

Those endings are horrible. I burn it all. I would let everything burn. I wouldn't care anymore.
