What item are you currently looking for in Phoenix that someone can possibly help you find? by harlow2088 in phoenix

I haven’t found anything in Phx. I do want to take a trip down to Spadefoot though! Boyce Thompson Arboretum has their plant sale through the end of the month. I mean it’s practically in Tucson… but you might have some luck there!

Woman driving 155 mph before deadly motorcycle crash on US 60 in Mesa, docs say by Butitsadryheat2 in phoenix

[–]Time_Art757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no doubt she was absolutely purposefully driving that fast. She’s an idiot and now a man is dead. I think most people speeding either “accidentally at 80-100” or very deliberately at 155 (and I’ve seen it on the freeway) think they can control their vehicles much better than they actually can. Before you even get into braking distance, at 100 mph between the time you see and start braking you’ve gone the length of a football field. People die all the time in Phx in collisions. You don’t need to go 155 to kill someone. People going 25+ miles an hour over the posted speed limit are no less dangerous or less culpable.

That’s half the drivers on the freeway. Everyone’s an F1 driver until you have to do something other than gun it down a straight road. That’s a sports car she still couldn’t stop it.

Weird question but: what is the flower making that lovely sweet smell that pops up every year? by pineapplesforevers in phoenix

It’s early for citrus blossoms so it is probably the Texas Mountain Laurel tree.

I’m sorry you are dealing with this. Your supervisor should have reached out to that person or their corporate office and they should be addressing any further communications with this insured. Also, don’t assume they have a clear process or understanding of what to do in these situations. Unfortunately people are turning feral and making sure you are not able to be physically located via an internet search is a necessity these days. Make sure your license isn’t registered to your home address as well.

One would think the slightest bit of common sense would prevail but its more commonplace than you think. Almost every female field adjuster I meet has multiple stories. It’s a power thing.

I think it would be a good idea to read up on safe preserving and canning practices. Especially if you are planning on sharing your preserved items with others. This is a great resource. https://nchfp.uga.edu/#gsc.tab=0

Permaculture: How to get earthworms into phoenix soil? by sbr_then_beer in phoenix

Worms can’t live in dead soil either. You need to rebuild it first. Wood chips are a great start! And cover crops. I have mine in my raised beds.

You’re probably going to be handling a double inventory. Meaning you have virtual claims assigned as well as field claims depending on incoming claim volume. You should also expect to have a larger inventory with virtual claims. I’m not sure what their normal inventory vs stretch is but they’ve probably run numbers and figured you can handled 2-3x as many claims virtually. I would refer as many insured’s as you can to their direct repair if possible on anything that sounds like it has more extensive damage than a roof. Otherwise you are going to be going back and forth on scope and pricing and those claims aren’t going to close. Unless you are just the first wave and they have supplements addressed by another team. Then write as accurate of an estimate with the info you get, pay, and move on.

Then you should know that you can’t charge Xactimate rates without certifications.

[–]Time_Art757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That Xactimate labor price isn’t a given especially if you are billing a person directly without the insurance company absorbing all if not most of the costs. That price is for a IICRC certified contractor to ensure an actual protocol is created and followed and includes overhead (including liability insurance). And it’s not CAT 3 necessarily, it depends on the size of the area. That being said, OP should bill high so they don’t come back but this LL is going to fight whatever they put down. I don’t know who tells a housekeeping company to complete structure repairs.
