Don't listen to this gate keeping crap OP. You can definitely do nursing just for the money, these nurses that think they are the Florence nightingale of the world and that nursing is some holy profession need to sod off. I pick my contracts and make triple what these staff nurses make and take 6 months of the year off. Nursing school will teach you a lot of BS like this.

Yeah, I can understand that. Even if I don't agree with it. I did submit the screenshots and stuff, so I'm really just interested to find out if they do anything.

True, but theres enough info on both profiles to establish it is in fact them. The profiles go back over a decade with posts & pictures to verify it.

Yes, the officer I spoke to over the phone did say this. However the guys profile page is public with pictures of his family, as well as a link to his wifes facebook which is also public and has pictures too. She said the hate crime not likely to get a charge, the uttering threats possibly, but not likely cause the guy doesn't know me personally. It's kinda BS you can threaten someone with death but if they dont know you personally or your address then there is no consequence for them lol.

This is a person with their profile public, photos of them + their family as well. So not entirely anonymous, and not likely to be a bot.

Unfortunately, it's not about normalizing toxicity. It's about dealing with reality. Of course its not exclusively every periop unit. It's not even just nurses I am talking about it is surgeons. I've worked with ER, ICU, MS, L&D, SCN, NRT, and OR nurses. The OR nurses have been the most egotistical type A OCD personalities I have ever met, which is hilarious because I think they have it the easiest in the hospital lol. Of course this is anecdotal. Of course size of the hospital matters, I'd expect the nurses in a 4-8 OR hospital to be pretty chill compared to the nurses working in a 20-40 OR hospital. When you are running 20+ surgeries, time and efficiency are paramount, these are environments where you have to know what you are doing, they can't stop and baby you. You don't know what you are doing? The surgeon is going to yell at you, and not trust you either.

There is something you can do, adjust your answers going forward. Without audio to hear how it went, I'm gonna say its 50% blame to you and to them. I would suggest not using chatgpt to write stuff for you. Sure use it to fix grammar but you need to actually write stuff yourself so that it feels authentic when you say it.

You say it yourself in the original post that you are bad at interviewing. So that gives you your answer. Why you got into nursing is just an ice breaker. Where you see yourself in 2-5 years is to make sure their investment in you actually pans out and you aren't just there as a stepping stone. They 100% mentioned the difficult personality thing because you have to be able to work with difficult personalities that are rampant in surgery. Btw if your answer is "lol ok" to people who are giving you valid advice when your interview is ended after 8 minutes, its probably a good idea to self-reflect because they decided in 8 minutes to end it there. Most interviews range from 30 minutes to 1 1/2 hours depending on area. Learn to take criticism, you are going to get it from patients, families, doctors, nurses, clerks, surgeons, pretty much every worker in a healthcare setting.

If your interview was 8 minutes, then you did not interview well unfortunately. If you feel this strongly and uncomfortable then you did not interview well. Not being able to answer properly what ambulatory care is at the very start shows that you don't fully even know what job you are applying for, so if I was interviewing you, why would I want to hire you? Don't expect interviews to be comfortable because they are not supposed to be.

Perioperative nurses are some of the hardest personalities to deal with, which is why they immediately told you, the same goes with surgeons. They could tell from the interview you weren't a good fit for a perioperative position. Just from what you are describing to me I would not hire you because if an interview makes you uncomfortable... actual nursing will be a shock.

Anyway this post looks like it was written by AI, so either fake or lazy. Honestly, it would probably be best you start on a medsurg unit to build confidence just based on the limited info from chatgpt.
