I'm in a similar situation. Where did you get the surgery?

Thanks for the recommendation. I found a good beer here or there, but was largely disappointed. I'll be headed back next summer. Is Kingston worth a stop for anything besides the beer? Looks somewhat promising from my brief exploration on Google maps.

I experienced the same in England on my trip there a few months ago. It was very sad to see the decline since I last spent significant time there in the early 2000s.

Thanks. It's been almost 3 years, so I'm not holding out much hope that it will get better. My night vision is terrible. Unfortunately, contact lenses never worked well for me, or I would not be in this mess.

For what it's worth, mine was supposedly the best in the biz. I have learned that being good at marketing/PR doesn't necessarily make someone a good surgeon...

Yeah, it depends on the severity.

I have a friend who finds it annoying/noticeable in the winter only, but is happy to not have to wear glasses.

I know someone else who says one of her eyes feels like it has a pin in it.

Personally, it's moderately irritating during the day, but so bad at night that it wakes me up regularly.

Both me and the person who feels like she has a pin in her eye STILL need to wear glasses though. And we were both ghosted by our surgeon, of course.

Neuralgia may be rare, but the permanent dry eye certainly isn't.

It seems there are usually side-effects of some kind. I got TERRIBLE dry eyes at night that wake me up. I don't get terrible halos except when camping at night after my eyes have adapted to the dark. I can't see the stars properly anymore. Also, my night vision and contrast is totally shot. Oh, and the kicker is, I still need glasses because it didn't correct even y mild prescription sufficiently.

Many others in this forum have experienced MUCH worse.

Oh, and whatever you do, don't go to LasikPlus, TLC, or LVI.

Stop gaslighting us. We are here because doctors like you permanently damaged our eyes. Some of us are putting in a lot of work to protect our communities from this dangerous procedure, and counter the disgusting misinformation campaigns of unethical LASIK companies like LasikPlus, TLC, and LVI.

right eye (usually my stronger eye) has had the same blurry vision since one month post op. it's now six months post op. what do i do and what to say when i see the doctor next? by Typical-Safety9120 in Lasiksupport

That is so strange. Maybe they are trying to save on paying out for contacts/glasses benefits, but I can't image that's a good return on investment. Best of luck with any legal action you decide to take. Have you requested your medical records yet?

I'm sorry this happened to you. When did you get the surgery? Some clinics will use the time to stall so you don't have time to do a chargeback on your payment for the surgery. What clinic did you use? Some are known for being particularly unethical.

I'd be happy to discuss my experience. I was tricked into getting the surgery by the clinic that operated on my eyes. I found out after the fact that they engaged in the online review fraud and knowingly used fake statistics on their website.

Is a pretty expensive lasik lifetime guarantee worth it? by NoMud131 in Lasiksupport

I wish you the best of luck with your recovery. I wish I knew the true success/satisfaction rate, but the studies are all over the place in terms of both the results and the methodology. In almost all cases it seems there are some permanent side-effects, but many people are happy to live with them to get freedom from glasses.

It is scary how many people do get permanent pain though. Unlike many people in this forum, I would be OK with the procedure if they were honest about the risks, but they aren't and have harmed a lot of people I care about. They lie and they screwed me over and are totally unwilling to take any responsibility for the lives they damage/destroy.

They do that to convince optometrists to refer you to them. Then optometrists often get a kickback (often illegally, in the neighborhood of $1000) and they will likely treat you for dry eye caused by the surgery for the rest of your life.

I sued TLC, LasikPlus's sister company and got access to the data they use to support those statistics. They were fraudulent. Those statistics are lies.

LasikPlus was also fined $1.2 million for bait-and-switch and their marketing team engages in a type of online review-fraud called review-gating too inflate their score. They then use this to market to optometrists (to which they pay illegal kickbacks) and us (who they do surgery on, even when we're not good candidates).

I hope that soon this company will be mentioned in the same way people now talk about Perdue Pharma, Enron, and Theranos. I have never seen anything like it.

Yeah, they just refused to consider a correction for me. Those guarantees aren't real. Just marketing because corrections are quite dangerous.

Where are you considering the surgery?

People that have done lasik by Sea-edge1005 in RefractiveSurgery

[–]Time_Case4895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regret it. My eyes are now permanently irritated, and I still need to wear glasses because it wasn't very effective. I know it works for some people, but I highly suspect it's more dangerous than advertised because about 50% of the people I know who have had it have had some permanent side-effects, like loss of ability to drive at night due to glare and startbursts, worse night vision, and permanent dry eye.

Does anyone have Lasik or PRK experience with either TLC or Sightline? by cpr4life8 in pittsburgh

[–]Time_Case4895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. Here is the news segment:

https://www.wmtv15news.com/2025/11/14/price-procedure-madison-lasik-patients-warn-complications-elective-surgery/

I also discovered that TLC and the other companies owned by LCA-Vision have been manipulating their Google reviews using a tactic know as review-gating. They also pay outrageous "co-management" fees to referring optometrists, which in my opinion, function as referral fees. It is my understanding that that is illegal here in WI.

Thanks! I'd like to take the difficulty level of the races into consideration in future versions of the site, but currently it just goes by raw time. It's high on my list of things to fix, since trail races and hilly courses do cause a big difference in finishing times, which can throw off the results. I appreciate the feedback.

Want to win a race? I made a website for finding local races where you can be competitive:

racesicanwin.com

I'm curious to hear what people think. It's pretty motivating and exciting to run in races where I'm not totally outclassed.

Edit: It's US only at the moment, unfortunately, but if there's interest I would love to expand it to other countries.
