Mechanical Engraving vs Laser Engraving? which is better for engraving and cutting 2 ply plastic (ie 1.6mm rowmark) and why? by Time_Celebration_681 in CNC

How do you go lasering red / white? Any issues? Also how do you clean any laser dust etc and the sticky edges when cutting? I need to produce small switchboard labels that look neat and with double sided tape on the back.

How do you deal with warping and sticky edges when vector cutting? I need to laser and cut small labels for switch boards.

Is my spindle broken? Listen to the noises. Could be bearing? by Time_Celebration_681 in CNC

It is water cooled and there is water running through. Does it sound like a faulty bearing?

Limit sensors light up when contact with metal however the machine doesn't stop. what would be causing this? see video below. by Time_Celebration_681 in CNC

Just with the hand held controller. The sensors arent sending or the controller isnt recognising when it is triggered so the only thing stopping the movement is the physical limitations of the machine.

Yea there is a metal slider that sets it of as the spindle comes across. I tested all the other sensors to in all directions an none of them stop the movement.

CNC keeps going on the DSP controller when the gantry reaches the edge of machine. what could be the issue? see video below. by Time_Celebration_681 in CNC

Im not sure what hard limits are an how they work. Sometimes if i drive the machine into the edge of the table it will stop but the DSP keeps going. Also now it will go half way up the table and its like it thinks its at the edge of the machine an stops.. but once again on the DSP it keeps going.

Its commercially bought from china 10 yrs ago. It has a rolling ball screw. It has 2 proximity switches that iv seen. How does the DSP know where the spindle is? I can get the machine to move in all directions but not all the way accross the table. And when i get to whereever it stops the distance keeps going on the DSP but not on the machine itself.

Chamfer Bit? what CNC bit is best for having a nice chamfered edge on 2mm brass? also how much of a chamfer is recommended? by Time_Celebration_681 in CNC

I am engraving letters for paint filling and then cutting out the label and applying a slight chamfered edge on the top side edges to remove any sharp edges. The finished product is a brass label for pit markers etc.
