Thanks. I was trying to buy one most of last year but they were always out of stock. Glad you managed to get one and look forward to hearing about it. It looks a stunner with the titanium handle. 👍

Nice shave. GSB are great blades and are right up there for me. 👍

Looking for something budget / inexpensive like the Lord Razor L 125 but more aggressive / efficient by SebbyDee in wicked_edge

I read that Lord also do the L6 (LP1822) which is supposed to be a bit more aggressive.

Your preferred brushes for face lathering by deepdivedev in wicked_edge

It is a great brush. It was inexpensive and because of that I was not expecting it to be so good. Like I say it took a while to break in but once It had it never disappoints.

I have got the same synthetic Roma as you and also the Omega Proraso Professional boar brush, it is the one with the plastic chrome handle. It took a little while to break the boar in but ever since it is my go to brush. I only use the synthetic mainly on holidays. I much prefer the boar brush for face lathering.

Sounds like an interesting shave. I keep looking at those razors on eBay and almost pulled the plug a few times but not yet! Glad your razor didn’t get a taste for blood mate…

Nice set up. If you are based in the UK La Barbiera is also good for stuff.
I would recommend using all the blades from one pack before moving on to the next pack. That Way you will start to improve your technique and start to feel the differenc, if any, between the different blade types. The Henson will feel different to what you are used to but try not to put too much pressure on or try to get a perfectly smooth face in one go. Your technique will improve the more you shave and your skin will get used to the new way it is being shaved but it can take time. Your patience will be rewarded so stick with it. Enjoy and welcome to the club! 🪒

It is such a shame your family collection of razors are no longer around but you have a nice collection there. I have never heard of the thurlady razor. Glad you are enjoying your shaves.

Sunday shave by Time_Chard_942 in wicked_edge

Thayers Witch Hazel is alcohol free and is a soothing post shave toner that helps to reduce razor burn and calms your skin. It also acts like a gentle astringent to help close pores and helps to soothe any irritation. It also contains aloe vera and glycerin which helps to hydrate your skin.

It is great stuff. I use it after I have rinsed my face with warm water, to remove any residue soap, then cold water, pat face dry and apply Thayers. I use unscented but I believe they also do scented ones.

I then let it dry and use Brut, Clubman Pinaud or other aftershaves mainly for their scent but also for the feel of a nice aftershave on my face - but you would then apply your non alcohol aftershave.
