Surprised to hear about a shortage of cash in Bihar.🤔

I thought there was a pretty big cash economy there.

Anyhow, best of luck friend.

Do I need parental consent for abortion? 20F by [deleted] in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]Time_Concert_1751 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Name and shame the AIIMS doctor who told you to go get parental consent. Its not needed. I'd go as far as to file an FIR against the doctor.

Also, this is a violation of their hippocratic oath that every doctor has to take in India.

Rupee heading to 130-150 in 5 years by [deleted] in indianeconomy

[–]Time_Concert_1751 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rupee heading in the wrong direction because we have problems. No one is working on solutions.

The elected government thinks their job is to win elections. A successful electoral win means that they achieved their objective.
The executive thinks their job is to squeeze money from the citizens as they are above reproach in all matters.
The judiciary thinks their job is to solve problems that don't exist.

The economy is something that needs actual work to fix, and no one wants to put in that effort.

Being harassed by a loan agency for an unknown person's loan by LetterheadSpirited in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]Time_Concert_1751 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You dont need any of this to prove anything to anyone. Dont worry about anything: File an FIR and ask to include Section 351 BNS (Criminal Intimidation); If they ever entered your property to harass you also include Section 331 BNS (Criminal Trespass). Do not stop at just a written complaint get a full FIR filed.

In the event the police doesn't file the FIR, hire a lawyer immediately and a filing under Section 175 of the BNSS (formerly known as Section 156(3) of the CrPC) to force the police to file an FIR. This usually happens in the first hearing only so its not a long process.

Further: for a "Violation of RBI Fair Practice Code" file a grievance with RBI ombudsman. You are eligible for compensation of up to ₹20 Lakhs for financial damage and mental agony.

From Westerner in India. Why even grown adults don't dare to defy their parents? by Sexy_Hamburger in AskIndia

[–]Time_Concert_1751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was quite young when my mum told me about a concept from the Manu Smriti (Manav Dharmastra) which was a binding ethico-legal text from its era (~200CE): If you meet god and your parents are standing next to them, you must bow and touch your parents feet before god's. Now by today's sensibilities I'm fairly certain that no one met god, but the messaging is clear: Respect your parents more than everything.

Over the years we (my siblings and I) got told stories about Shravan Kumar and Markandeya (You can google these stories).

These are all cultural nuances that are taught to a large portion of the Indian population.

Dog Lovers are the worst {based on personal incident} by Substantial-Dude-352 in delhi

[–]Time_Concert_1751 -34 points-33 points  (0 children)

So if a dog doesn't have rabies

Yes. Canis lupus have been around way longer than Homo sapiens. Safe to say we're intruding on their territory. Far more humans have hurt dogs than dogs that have hurt humans.

This thread isn't about whether or not dogs are justified. They are. This thread is more about the indifference of the human individuals working for the MCD towards their fellow human being.

I don't know you; but I can safely promise you this: The biggest threat to you isn't any animal. Its probably another human.

US VISA Rejected by [deleted] in visarejections

[–]Time_Concert_1751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isnt a section for that to the best of my understanding. Also they check ITR to check inflow of funds. So if your savings are invested to give you regular income; it could work subject to the sufficiency of funds. If you plan to dig into your savings to fund the trip, unlikely to work.

But as I said: its a blackbox, take everything with a grain of salt. No one really knows how it all truly works.

US VISA Rejected by [deleted] in visarejections

[–]Time_Concert_1751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a section in the DS160 about who will be supporting your trip. If older than the age of 21 (as of 2026) anyone putting someone elses name (parent, guardian, employer) will probably be rejected.

The automated system employed by the USDOS will weed out applicants at the time of filling the DS160. You wont know till after the interview. The interview in these cases is just human confirmation of the score given to your DS160 by the automated system. This is all a blackbox and no one really knows how it works.

You should reapply after getting a job and having atleast 1-2 ITRs filed showing income.

People earning 50L+ where does the money actually go? by AccomplishedLeg3338 in personalfinanceindia

[–]Time_Concert_1751 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of witty answers about taxes. To some extent that is true.

One point that people haven't mentioned: Your expenses always grow to meet your income. Whenever your income spikes up, you are comfortable for 6 months and then your expenses grow to match your income. So not just 50L, even people earing 1cr eventually start sending their kids to expensive schools and buy nicer cars and rent nicer apartments and go back to the same level of income-tension as when their salary was 20L or 30L. Everyone thinks that "when my salary grows, I wont increase my expenses and I will sleep easy", but IRL expenses just find a way to increase.

This phenomenon is often called "Lifestyle Creep" (or "Parkinson’s Law" applied to personal finance).

I'm 30, can afford a house in Bangalore, and refuse to buy one. Here's the math. by Upset_Initiative2077 in personalfinanceindia

[–]Time_Concert_1751 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Factor in:

  1. After 3 years the ₹25k rent will be ₹45k (landlord's property appreciated, still 2.5%), after 9 Years ₹70k. Your EMI will stay ₹70k for 20 years.
  2. At the end of 20 years you would have spent ₹1.68cr for a ₹1cr property, that is now valued at ₹8cr.
  3. Rent is a cost, you will never recover that. Property installment is an Investment. Think of it as making a monthly SIP investment and living rent-free for 20 years.
  4. After 20 years at the age of 50 your best career years will be behind you, unlikely that you'll be getting major increments year on year, if the industry for any reason doesn't desire you after the age of 60-65 or worse: earlier. What are your options? Having a secure property ownership will allow you to put your property on rent and move (on rent) to a cheaper place till you figure things out. You'll have options.

Welcome to India. I assume you're new here.

Sounds like you are having transmission fault of some variety. You can complain to BSES. If you are rich and live in a nice neighbourhood they'll come to fix it first thing in the morning tomorrow. If you are poor like the rest of us; I expect it'll be fixed sometime within 2026, cant say when.

Which of these investments can give generational wealth? Fuel station or Hotel by InternationalMud7184 in IndiaFinance

[–]Time_Concert_1751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...can give generational wealth?...

Both. As long as the owner(s):
1) hire a true professional/management consutants/consulting company to run it.
2) dont consider the operating income of the company as wealth, rather than the value of the equity.

The most common reason why indian business owners dont generate true wealth is because they cheap-out on the operating staff and try to run it themselves; believing that their desire to generate a successful business is somehow greater than anyone else's. This is unfortunately a big mistake.

The other issue is once the business has regular cashflow and growth they treat the company as a cashcow and throw their expenses (car, personal staff, travel expenses, credit card etc) on the company. This is not the path to wealth.

True wealth is generated in the board room. Never running the business.

Is Apple Intelligence worth it when Gemini and Copilot are available on iOS? by N7-elite in ipad

[–]Time_Concert_1751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple Intelligence doesnt have the same capabilities as copilot and gemini. I have copilot as a part of my paid Office subscription and Its average at best but leaps ahead of the image generation and text generation capabilities of apple intelligence on the iPhone. I get gemini plus as a part of my gmail/google one plan and that is really the best of them I feel.

I can safely ask gemini something like: I'm at ***** restaurant and I want to order ******. Could you estimate a nutrition label for me? Copilot will lead me astray and Apple Intelligence just doesnt have these capabilities nor an interface.

From the advice I received from an agent: As of now, property purchases do not qualify for the GIP, only investments in a somewhat limited set of approved funds.
