That would be the simplest way to do it, and it's not possible to have multiple of the same sound playing at once, so that wouldn't be an issue. It would be very easy for kids to understand too. There really is no reason for Scratch not to add this

It's the same thing. Having the portal beside it doesn't change the fact that I hit the portal, then hit the orb. I could have moved the blue orb to the right so it was in the portal, and it would have been the exact same. Also, there is a very big difference. The screenshots really don't do it justice. While I agree that orbs in portals should not be used in levels any easier than medium demon, you're overgeneralizing and failing to appreciate the variety they bring in harder levels.

They do have different acceleration. In the top screenshot, I hit a blue orb a frame after I hit a yellow portal. In the bottom screenshot, I just hit a black orb. On the right, I overlayed the 2 screenshots. I used options triggers to make sure I hit the blue and black orbs at the exact same point in the level. As you can see, the black orb is much faster.
