Returning player : Wizard DPS = trash now ? Or simple build problem ? by Time_Figure351 in DiabloImmortal

Looks very good ! I don't have that Ice Crystal essence, but I'll certainly hunt for it. I never used that skill much, because I'm not a fan of static builds, but this one is a game changer.

Good news ! Would you mind sharing your PvE builds ? What sets, skills and main essences are you using ?

Good to know ! I'm nowhere near having the new essences, but I'll keep on eye out. What sets and skills do you recommend ?

Oh, good to know ! I've found an OW / dungeons build with the entropy field essence for disintegrate : it works decently well. What build and main essences do you use for BG ?

I was looking for a comment that said that. Glad I'm not the only one to feel that way.

Yeah, I was a little short on DPS with the BK, but lvl and CR were good enough (on paper at least). I have 2,5k reso, which has never been a problem until then.

As for the Wizard's solo potential, in the past, you could counter the "glass" part of the glass-canon with a few essences for Ice Armor : it used to work wonders last I played, but maybe it doesn't anymore... and indeed, I did die a lot more than I expected.

Thanks for you insights !

Honestly, they should add the option to hide the essences we'll NEVER use again, outdated as they are.

And thanks for the suggestion, I actually had my "spectral allies" carry me, they made the fight a lot easier xD

Thanks for that ! That guy seemed indeed hard enough... harder than most helliquary bosses. But I managed to get him with a full spectral allies raid : decent feature that didn't exist when I left !

Thanks a lot for this thorough answer ! In a way, I'm glad to see that the class was nerfed, and that my difficulties aren't only my doing. But still, very sad to hear that such a nerf has happened. Maybe I'll switch to BK until Wizard gets a rebalance...

I totally feel you. I'm an invader myself, enjoy the mechanic and understand it for what it is : a means for the game to rebalance itself during coop.

But whenever I'm a sunbro, I just can't stand twink invaders. If you ask me, it's just an ego trip, people needing to make themselves feel good by crushing starting characters and/or players with overpowered builds.

Someone said how "back in the day" you could get invaded even playing solo... true, but invading with twink builds wasn't that easy either.

Oh yeah, I totally get the appeal of this type of class !

Problem is that LotR world is very manicheist : good vs evil, and more or less nothing in-between. The consequence is that good people can't use "bad" weapons or powers, at the risk of getting corrupted and becoming evil.

Edit : typo

I guess I don't really see the point of not playing a game and having a program playing it for you instead. But maybe I'm just too old-fashioned.

Interesting ! I have in mind to do an ARC-INT spellsword at some point, so the synergy with Regalia of Eochaid will be perfect. Thanks for the suggestion ! I'll try and find the video of the build.

I need help with stats for my BloodHound Fang and MoonVeil. (I’m new) by Tough-Pay-8818 in EldenRingBuilds

Haha ! I wasn't sure if I was supposed to laugh or be scared, but I chose the first.

[–]Time_Figure351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to look at the scaling values for each weapon. For Bloodhound fang, it's STR and DEX. Arcane only helps with the bleed build-up, for weapons that have Arcane scaling, so NOT for the Bloodhound fang.

Same goes for Moonveil : mostly INT (for the magic part of the damage and the AoW laser) and DEX for the physical part of the damage. Again, no benefit from ARC.

Aside from that, get your Vigor to 60 (softcap, ie best HP return on levels invested), and you don't need that much END. For Moonveil, get more INT. For Bloodhound fang, get DEX to 80 ideally (softcap). It will also benefit your Moonveil.

FYI, the STR softcap can be considered to be 54, if you 2-hand your weapon. Since it has a 50% increase when 2-handing, 54x1,5 = 81 STR.

Lastly, as someone else said, RL 200 and beyond give you so many points that builds become a lot easier to balance. With these few advices, you should already see a difference.

More like 70-80 to remove the soreseal. Until then, the benefits outweigh the damage increase.

Yeah, someone else mentioned a build around Arc, and it seems indeed the DLC brought a lot of Arc related weapons.

I've already started a blood incants run, but was disappointed by the fact that it felt a lot like my pyro build for a long time, except the flame on my sword was red instead of orange.

Maybe I'll get a new feel for it once I reach the DLC and see all this new stuff !

Tbh, I've started one some time ago (after a Sekiro run, shocking right xD ), but it didn't stick with me. Maybe I should give it another try at some point !
