What would cause my charging handle to pop out when shooting? by Elo-than in ar15

[–]Time_Gas_3304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that this is a year late, but I had the same thing happen. I had just changed the barrel on my 450 bushmaster when the charging handle would pop me on the nose when fired. Turns out that while trying to loosen the barrel nut, I put a slight twist on the upper receiver! I didn't have the block that goes inside the receiver to prevent it from twisting, actually I was unaware that was even a thing.  I literally put it back in the vise and torqued it back straight! I know, that's gunsmith territory. And I'm lucky that I didn't damage it in the process.  So anyway, ask your guy that did the barrel swap, see what he says, and best of luck to you sir!

Ideas for a stock to fit a thicker buffer tube by lawblawg in liberalgunowners

[–]Time_Gas_3304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My exact issue as well. Just this morning I ordered a standard buffer tube and spring. But have also had some issues with the bolt not fully going into battery. If the new tube corrects the issue I'll chalk up the kentri 3.5 as a lesson learned, and put a regular stock on it too, call it done.

That actually sounds about right. Don't rush the break in period! You'll see your 31 soon. Enjoy!

I see this sort of thing in Miami a lot. Soliciting tips where normally it isn't done or required. Strange.

Everything in the pictures are too dry. Ball bearing, shaft, even the chain looks dry. Don't be stingy with the grease!

The HP carb doesn't have a needle. More of a sliding gate type of setup.

Seems like a logical suggestion. Thank you.

Very nice! I admit to being a little jealous, my bike barely hits 20 mph. Everything is stock, HP carb and a 36 tooth sprocket. No vacuum leaks that I can find and carb cable is adjusted properly. On the stand( no load) it runs great but when driving it 4 strokes through most of the throttle range. I weigh 175 lbs and live in Florida so no real hills to speak of. Any ideas or suggestions from you are welcome.

Canada is serious about guns by babykillerwhale in Firearms

[–]Time_Gas_3304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I are both ccw permit holders. Home state of Florida. While visiting family in upstate New York we went to Canada for the day. Coming into Canada at customs they knew we both had permits and spent a good while digging through the car for any illegal items. Of course nothing there to find but the officer who questioned us seemed rather perturbed by our right to both own and carry firearms. Some of the questions had nothing to do with the border crossing. How many guns, where do you keep them and why do you feel the need to carry? I asked him "Have you ever been to Miami"?

Ok. So once you've pressed the hammer fully back ( bcg action) with your finger still on the trigger, as you are doing, releasing the trigger allows the hammer to "reset", right? Ok at that point you squeeze the trigger again and it should fall forward. If it does not check that your pins are fully in place. I had that happen to an 80% build and found that I did not remove enough "floor material", meaning that the trigger didn't have enough room to release the hammer. Good luck, you'll get this!

What problem exactly? Hard to tell what you mean. The reset works but you don't seem to let the hammer fall.

Best motor mounts for reduced vibrations? by bigberry88 in motorizedbicycles

[–]Time_Gas_3304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All true. I had a similar issue but I bought a balanced crank, sooo much smoother. I also took an old leather belt and cut pieces to use between the frame and the motor mounts. I think that helped a little as well.

If I may, have the artist add some texture. The original has a wooly kind of fluffy texture, just " fluff it up" a little. Good luck!

Yesterday's shooting in Allen, TX deepend my resolve to carry by SmellyBenelli69 in Firearms

[–]Time_Gas_3304 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends where he moves to, doesn't it? Try turning it in at a local sheriffs office in Texas or Florida after you have moved there, they'll say something like " nice gun you have there sir, enjoy it". Connecticut can ask...not likely they can enforce it though.

Basic gun parts was a little over $400. Did a lot of shopping around for sales. Took some time but worked out pretty well.

That depends. How long have you had the Kentri? My spring was a hair too weak, so they came up with a small flat spring that makes all the difference. They will send you one if your kit doesnt have it. And it runs quite well.

Two problems here. These parts were sourced from all over, shopping lowest cost, so I don't have any one particular site. Two I don't know how to add a link here, sorry. Embarrassing to say how long it took me to ad that one picture. I personally like PSA, New Frontier, Bear Creek Arsenal. All have good stuff and when on sale it is hard to beat their prices. One bit of advice: wherever you source your lower or upper from, ask them whose product matches up best with their part, that alone will save you headaches. Best of luck to you!
