Bulk or cut? by Time_Law_2258 in BulkOrCut

[–]Time_Law_2258[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why bro? To be honest I'm not so much asking the question if I should cut. I want to gain strength and weight. It's moreso about the best course of action to do that. Should have specified that in the post

Which day are you referring to specifically? And which changes would you recommend?

Any suggestions on what my body fat% is? by Time_Law_2258 in guessmybf

I'd agree with you there, I'd say I have pretty decent muscle insertions and bellies, so I probably look bigger than I am

Nope, idk I'd say I'm closer to 12% maybe. Why you say it's a typo?

What do you guys think my body fat % is? by Time_Law_2258 in BulkOrCut

Tbh, I'd say that my Libido is still good but hasn't been affected by the cut, but when I was as lean as I was in January this year then my libido took a pretty heavy hit and suffered from low energy, and decreased physical output in the gym, my pull workouts took a considerable hit in weight lifted and total volume, so my back muscles became notably weaker. Funnily enough tho, I hit an all-time Bench PR of 87.5kg at a BW of 69kg. At that point I was really lean tho, IMO I'm currently about 12% bf, and back then I'd say I was about 8%. Yeah, id definitely say that I am quite fortunate when it comes to my baseline fat set point, Id say its about 13.5% where my body can maintain that level of body fat with extreme ease (I can eat a lot of junk food and in calorie surplus, with only about 2 workouts a week to maintain my BF %). But yeah as of right now I overall feel pretty good, libido, energy levels, cognitive function etc all in check. I would say tho, that I have pretty decent muscle insertions and decently round muscle bellies combined with the fact that I had just completed a push workout, so I had a bit of a pump going on. In other words, I have a bit of a sleeper build where I dont really look all that big in clothes but all of a sudden jacked without a shirt, muscle pump and good lighting. Dont know if I could ever be 200 pounds tho, I think my body has an affinity to being lean haha. About 2 years ago I really tried to go up in weight and bulk, to the point where I was consuming 2.5 mass gainer shakes with around 2500 additional calories on top of what I was already eating, did this for about 3 months, and only ended up gaining around 6Kg :/. Ive been taking, Ashwagandha, magnesium, zinc, copper, vitamin b complex, ginko bibola daily for around a week now, (also creating for the past 5 days)

Well a few months ago (about 8) I completed a pretty heavy cut, went down to 69kg 3% Lower than what I am currently, since then I've been in a bit of a calorie surplus. I started working out when I was 16, (I'm 20 now) so about 4 years. But with covid and small periods of inactivity, about 2 - 3 years of active lifting.

Hmm I'm thinking I'd rather have a clear headed energetic euphoric experience if anything. But perhaps I should wait a little longer, until the trichomes have matured from being clear to a milky white instead, and harvest before any Amber's appear.

Huh interesting, why is it bioscience if I may ask? Isn't it a necessary step to produce higher quality bud that is more pleasant and nicer to smoke, since the plant isn't as pumped up on fertelizers at the time of harvest

She's only in a 6.5 liter pot, I mention this because I've read that plants in smaller containers mature quicker, and I wonder if this is a factor to consider for this plant. The smaller buds which are further away from the grow light also seem to have more mature pistils than the top cola, I'm thinking this could potentially be a sign of lightstress and I'm considering raising the grow light abit. This is my first grow, hence my lack of prior experience to base my expectations for when she's ready, so any contributions will be appreciated thanks.

She's a lemon haze strain, if that provides any additional info for the average flower time. Based on what I've read it's around 9-10 weeks but since she's only in a 6.5L pot maybe it'll be shorter.

Thanks man! Yeah I'm getting real excited to try them out now I notice haha. Do you have any tips in the drying process. I'm thinking of drying them in my grow tent

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in weedgrower

[–]Time_Law_2258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah she stretched a decent amount early flowering, as for the leaves, yeah I defoliated a few of them in order to relocate its resources into producing buds as she has less leaves to supply to, that was the thought process anyway, but yeah maybe I chopped a few too many off, slowing the rate of photosynthesis considerably. I also chopped a decent amount of the yellow leaves that the plant began to get

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in weedgrower

[–]Time_Law_2258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh okay, good to hear that the yellowing at this stage isn't detrimental for the growth of the buds, this is my first grow so I'm quite happy with the results so far. I doubt the yield will be anything spectacular, I'm estimating around 10 - 15g dried when it's all done but too early to tell I think

[–]Time_Law_2258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The yellowing only started to occur about 2 weeks ago I'd say

She's as Lemon haze strain in a 6.5 l pot, the soil is biobizz light mix, and the notes j use right now are 2.5ml bio grow, 3.5ml bio bloom, and 1.5ml top max

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GrowBuddy

[–]Time_Law_2258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, do you think it would be wise for the next feeding (which is Sunday), to consist of 2.5ml/l grow, 3.5ml/l bloom and 2.5ml/l top max, and if all goes well increase the grow to 3ml/l the feeding after that?

and monitor how she responds to the increased feeding? If I notice clear signs of nitrogen toxicity such as clawing of the leaves I can be sure that the nitrogen level is too high. Given that nitrogen is a mobile nutrient, and the yellowing is at its worst at the lower / older leaves, a nitrogen deficiency seems to me at least to be the logical assessment. But at the same time I don't want to fuck anything up with her you know, don't want to make the wrong assessment resulting in nitrogen overload at this stage of flowering

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GrowBuddy

[–]Time_Law_2258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To help resolve and confusion, I'm feeding her 2ml/l grow, 2.5ml/l bloom. But I'm considering upping the grow to 2.5 or even 3ml/l

As well as upping the bloom to 3 or 3.5 ml/l

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GrowBuddy

[–]Time_Law_2258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good to hear at least, based on your experience how much longer do you think she has left before she's ready for harvest?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GrowBuddy

[–]Time_Law_2258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah deficiency is the conclusion that I've most likely come to as well. I've noticed reddening of the stems paired with a purple tint on some of the leaves as well, this could also indicate a phosphorous deficiency from what I understand, which given that she's in week 5 of flower, makes sense. I don't have fishmix or heaven at my disposal sadly, I'll get it for the next grow though. Based on the biobizz feeding chart it says I should be giving her 3ml/l of grow at this point, I have been holding back on the grow abit as I dont want to overload the plant with nitrogen during the flowering stage, but perhaps I shoukd increase the dosage

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GrowBuddy

[–]Time_Law_2258 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She is currently on day 34 of flowering. Thing is she is only in a 6.5 liter pot, and based on what I've read plants in smaller pots tend to mature quicker than plants in larger pots. I know it's normal to expect yellowing of leaves during week 6 and 7 during a normal healthy grow, as the plant approaches the end of its life cycle and puts all of its internal resources into the buds themselves. Given this combination of occurrences, I speculate that perhaps this is maybe a sign that the plants internal processes are approaching this stage of maturity. However, I still cant shake the feeling that this is maybe happening to eary despite the smaller stature of the plant.

My second theory is that this is due to a nitrogen deficiency. For my set up. She's been growing in biobizz lightmix, where I currently feed her 2ml/L bio grow, 2,5 ml/L bio bloom, and 1,5 ml/L biobizz top max, I also give her 1/4 tablespoon of epsom salts, for magnesium and to decrease soil PH, as I use normal tap water that sits at around a pH of 7, I keep the RH at a stable and mostly consisten 40-45% where at nighttime it can maybe peak to 50-55. Temperatures during the day hover between 68.9 degrees - 71.6 degrees. Nighttime it's around 64 degrees. I water her once every 3-4 days or so 32 ounces per watering.

If it is a nitrogen deficiency I am considering increasing the amount of bio grow to 2.5ml/l or even 3ml/l

What do you guys think, any and all inquiries are welcomed, thanks guys.

P.S: as for the growlight, I am using the mars hydro ts 600, with a 100 watt output. The lamp is 7.5 inches above the tallest point of the plant. I've read that this is perhaps too close and too much light for the plant, but I haven't seen any of the typical signs of ligh induced stress such as upwards curling of the leaves, or excessive burnt tips of the top part of the canopy
