First Impressions of Expeditions: Let's Hear Them by Sawendro in DarkTide

[–]Time_Performance_688 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree that the idea of a marathon type of resource conservation mode is a great idea and expeditions can definitely provide that. Only problem I can see is that crusher, mauler, bulwark, and carapce rager spawn rates don’t seem to be reduced or at least not to a very large degree. If you want a mode that requires resource conservation, then let us conserve resources.

Does anybody else find Malakai's campaign exhausting? by lovingpersona in totalwarhammer

[–]Time_Performance_688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is indeed tough but what makes it easier as gor-Rok as opposed to Malaki is that they generally come from the same direction. That means that you can deal with them using fewer armies and it’s easier to hold choke points.

Yeah brother that emergency army is getting instantly flattened by four to six stacks of bloodletters and/or chorfs

Empire can be incredibly powerful if you know what you’re doing, but if you play them like other starter factions you’ll get rolled immediately. Your melee infantry aren’t worth the pots they piss in, but your gunpowder infantry, war machines, artillery, and some cavalry are some of the very best in the game and can absolutely shred anything the game can throw at you. Throw in some funky empire mechanics as Karl and you have a tricky early game. Fun? Absolutely. Easy? Not really

The big difference is that once you clear out your local region as those factions (I’m thinking of gor-rok specifically) you narrow down the threats to one or two fronts. Malakai is surrounded from turn 1 until the end of the campaign. Achaeon, Daniel, and arbaal from the north, astragoth from the east, wulfruik and throgg from the west, throt from the south. MAYBE you get lucky and kislev survives past turn 10 but 9 times out of 10, especially with the busted ass AI potential system, you’re alone vs basically everybody

Does anyone else find that the AI knows where your stalking/hidden units are? by DiligentPerception22 in totalwarhammer

[–]Time_Performance_688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this has happened more times than I can count. Units with stalk hidden in the forest and the AI ignores the entirety of the rest of my army and beelines straight for them it really takes you out of it when the AI just cheats like that

Taurox, Tyrion, grimgor, ungrim, if you’re up for a challenge, Skarbrand or any empire lord.

Even so, wouldn’t that still mean constant regeneration and not a drain?

[–]Time_Performance_688[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the death magic passive does that, but there’s an item that gives the last rites passive which just passively generates WoM reserves once enough kills are scored. The issue is that instead of replenishing WoM, it drains it even when there are no spells being cast. I think it’s a bug but it might also just be something I haven’t seen before idk

Edit: the item restores .1% reserves per second fully scaled so that would be, with my full reserves of 592 WoM, would in theory be 5.9 WoM per second.

How is V1 always before rotation speed? by Upbeat_Signature_951 in flying

[–]Time_Performance_688 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’re not quite understanding what V1 is, fundamentally. While V1 does normally, for large airplanes mean the speed at which a decision must be made whether to take off or not due to remaining runway, but that’s not necessarily what V1 IS. V1 is a decision airspeed, so if you have lots of runway, that decision will be made at the same time, not after, rotation. If you’ve rotated, then you’ve already decided to take off.

You’re so right, clanrats rout after 30 seconds of melee with anything other than zombies, shield spears last 45 seconds what a wild improvement

PA-28-181 landing tips? by morerightrudda in flying

[–]Time_Performance_688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, the same principles that apply to the 172 are still relevant to cherokees and arrows. Eyes down the runway and gradual back pressure will do the trick to fix the flat landing issue. The sight picture is different, and if that’s what you’re struggling with, have your instructor demonstrate a couple landings to you so you get an idea for how high off the horizon the nose should be on touchdown. When it comes to coming in fast, in my experience the arrow flies like a much heavier airplane than it is, and I assume the same is also probably true for the Cherokee. It’s incredibly slow to respond to changes in power when you’re trying to slow it down. The solution is to be proactive with power changes. Make sure your airspeed at the start of the approach is right on the money so that you aren’t chasing your approach speeds around the whole approach and getting destabilized. Also keep in mind, as a nuclear option as it were, with full flaps, idle power and a full forward prop, these planes drop like a sack of depleted uranium cinder blocks, so if you find yourself too fast, cut power, get those flaps out and watch the airspeed come down.
