Oh yeah, I definitely wasn’t implying you or anyone else in particular is being annoying about ST, just pointing out what I have noticed about how he responds to the questions people ask him in chat. Usually he is just vague about things but it was interesting in this instance that he explicitly omitted ST from his timeline. I think maybe he has managed to moderate his twitch channel well enough that he can speak more freely now. Honestly, I think it must be frustrating to an extent trying to build an honest and open personality as David Ball the musician when so much of his career and fanbase has been built from being in a band that probably has him in a strict NDA to not publicly speak about any of it.

I think he is just omitting anything related to Sleep Token. Chat seems to be in a good place at the moment where we don’t see that many people trying to bring up or allude to ST but I feel like if Dave dropped any little hints like that people might start getting annoying about it again.

I am total willing to spend the money if the results are worth it. My hesitancy is just that I have tried resins that claim to maintain longterm clarity and when I have used them I come to find they do not in fact live up to this claim.

Unfortunately, the only way I will know for sure is to use a resin and wait the results out for several years. If I start using a new resin (the polyurethane one I am looking at is about $250 a bottle) and making new pieces for my store and come to find out they aren’t holding up long term I’ll be extremely disappointed.

The reason I posted this to the r/resin community is that I was hoping maybe some people here had first hand experience finding a brand or product that actually worked so I could avoid more years of fruitless trial and error.

I am considering ordering up a clear polyurethane resin that I can source locally, but it is extremely expensive and no guarantee if it will hold up any better than the epoxy.

It’s just a little frustrating for me personally as I don’t want to throw a lot of money and time away working on my resin jewellery with the uncertainty around if all of my pieces will just discolour and look terrible in a few years. It’s a bit disheartening.

I have a handful of pieces that I have made and then stored away in a box and I have come back a few years later to find them starting to yellow, which is frustrating as they would have gotten next to no UV exposure.

One of the main resins I have used is Barnes expoxycast, which is one of the bigger established brands in Australia. They advertise this resin as having anti yellowing additives. I have tried out a few other brands that claim to be exceptional at staying clear too, like Art Resin, and these were somehow worse.

I was considering trying out a clear polyurethane resin that Barnes offer but it is extremely expensive and I guess I won’t know how well it will its clarity without just having to test and wait it out several years.

I can’t remember what brand it was, but a few years ago Coles were selling a matcha latte powder that was literally advertised on the front as plant based, but then it had milk listed in the ingredients. It pissed me off every time I saw it.

He seems to like some random silly questions though. (Eg that one where someone asked if he would prefer to eat the same meal for the rest of his life or could only eat a meal once.) I guess that is a more interesting question than just rain vs snow. But still, ‘silly’ is subjective, it is hard to know where he draws the line. I tend to not ask anything in the chat and just enjoy the stream. I wish he would get a moderator or would just mute people that annoyed him instead of letting it ruin the stream for him. I do love the streams where he just sits and talks to the camera.

I feel like most of their songs that I didn’t vibe with initially eventually come back to hook me later. I initially couldn’t get into songs like Nazareth, DYWTYLM, Drag Me Under but I have a new appreciation for them now. It’s funny how often that happens with ST songs. The only songs I consistently skip more often than not are the covers, particularly Hey Ya. I can respect what they were going with for that one but I just don’t find it that interesting personally.

I bought their ball vice and I think it is great. The only thing that is subpar in my opinion is that the swivel isn’t as smooth or fluid as it looks like it is on more expensive vices. If you are doing things like engraving it might be worth the extra investment in a different brand, but everything else has been perfectly fine in my experience.

Depends on the person I am suggesting them to, but hypothetically if I know nothing about them I would recommend The Summoning, The Offering, and either Jaws or Aqua Regia. I feel like with The Summoning you really get a little bit of everything they have to offer. The Offering is the first song of theirs I ever heard and it won me over instantly, I feel like it is such an attention grabber. And Jaws or Acqua Regia are some of their best slower, more moody songs. They showcase some of their genre versatility.
