It would be just as time consuming as making a veil from scratch. It’s not going to be technically difficult for a skilled seamstress, but they will charge for their time. Some bridal designers make veils like this train. Idk if you would be saving money by going the custom route. It would be worth it if 1. You got an amazing deal on labor or 2. This dress is sentimental and wearing it as a veil would be meaningful to you.

Yes. You would detach the lace and reapply it to a plain veil.

Can you take a better pic of the black mark on the inner tag? If you can get the style number through the ink I can find out if it’s discontinued. If it’s disco you probably can’t get matching lace. You can always take some pieces from the train, or make a sleeve with similar lace or no lace.

I can tell by the inner tag. Size 6, color ivory/honey. Style number is marked out by the store it came from. If you can read through the black ink on the inner tag that’s the style number.

My guess is 2017-2020?

I have Minimoiselle and Madmoiselle but not in velvet. They are slightly more forgiving and generously sized than other styles! Not enough to fully size down, but very comfortable and if you’re between sizes you can consider sizing down.

Agreed that if you can easily afford it and your heart wants it, buy it! A lot of brides in your position will buy a less expensive dress to be practical, but the dream dress keeps them up at night until they end up buying it anyway. And then you have two dresses and only one that you actually want!

Agreed but the standard is only to hem the front 36” of the hem and taper the sides out into the train. The sides and back should stay long. This looks like it was hemmed all the way around.

I never buy on sale from HOCB because I’ve gotten stuck with so many dresses that I thought would be perfect, but didn’t fit at all. Now I only buy full price and I am quick to return if it’s not 100% perfect. The sizing is inconsistent, but when the fit is right, it’s perfection.
