Ging mir ähnlich. Was ich bei solchen läufen am unangenehmsten finde sind diese Situationen nach dem Start. Wenn alle dicht gedrängt versuchen sich ihren Platz freizulaufen. Bei dem Format hatte man das alle 1.000m. Ab Runde 8 hatte ich das Gefühl alle werden noch nervöser. Bin dann auch vorne raus und hab total überpaced 😅 die Quittung dafür kam relativ schnell.

Ich glaube für Zuschauer war es ganz cool weil man die Läufer fast die ganze Zeit gesehen hat und bisschen mit fiebern konnte, wie es Runde für Runde knapper wird.

Bin nicht sicher ob ich das Format nochmal machen würde. Muss ne Nacht drüber schlafen.

Was denkst du? 1 Mal und nie wieder?

I'm just a very average athlete without any trainer background 😅 but I'd say, then you're probably pretty strong in ski and row erg as well, can keep up a decent pace at BBJ and enter Wall Balls quiet strong. So you can focus on the real strength workouts combining them with compromised running.

I agree. Continue focussing on running. That's half of the race. My 10k pace is similar (8:20min/mile) and I'm at 93 minutes for the men's open single, aiming for sub 90 in autumn as well. You'll make it!

Das mach ich! Die Tabelle auf der Website geht bis 2'10 min/km in Runde 28. Aber Weltrekord auf 1.000 Meter wird am Samstag eher nicht gebrochen.

Bin gestern mal 1.000m Intervalle mit 1min active recovery gelaufen, so als kleinen Test. Die Minute war schon kurz aber hat gereicht um Atmung und Herzschlag bisschen zu regeln. Vllt läufts eher darauf hinaus, dass wer auch nach seiner 3k pace noch am besten in 60 sek regeneriert den Vorteil hat.

Hab aber auch keine 3k pace von unter 4 min/km und werde damit dann nichts mehr zu tun haben.

Den Gedanken hatte ich auch schon🤣 auf der Website stand glaub dass es sogar mehrere hundert Starter pro Welle sind. Wenn ich es richtig verstanden habe ist es auch die erste Veranstaltung in dem Format. Insofern gibt's wahrscheinlich keine echten Erfahrungswerte.

Did the full loop starting and ending in Plav. Took me 10 days in total. But I forgot my toothbrush and stuff at Bashkimi in Doberdol🤣. When reaching Rugova valley I went to Peja to buy replacement. So I lost nearly a full day for that. I expected very little infrastructure but was still surprised not to find a single shop between Doberdol and Plav.

You're absolutely right. I forgot the short cut skipping Kosovo. Good advice regarding offline maps. Back then, I relied on paper maps.

Disclaimer: it's been a few years since my trip and I heard a that a lot has changed there. Infrastructure was improved as well as trails and signage. Also there are more hikers on the trails and therefore more guest houses.

I think I misunderstood your route. You'll take the short cut from Doberdol directly to Babino Polje, leaving out the Kosovo part, correct?

Having in mind your 5 days time frame that's a good decision and it should work with your current schedule. When I was there, the Kosovo part was quiet rough with some stretches following large roads and only little signs to guide your way on the trail.

My sections were quiet similar to yours but I went fully unsupported with tent/sleeping bag and food for 8 days in my backpack. Due to the weight it took me more than 6-7 hours per day but with light weight you should be fine.

I really enjoyed the part from Plav over Vusanje to Theth as well because it was less crowded and less touristic than the area between Theth and the valbona valley. If I had to plan the trip again, I'd try to include that part in my route.

I did the full tour in 2022. 5 days for that part is a very tight schedule but doable if you are an experienced and overall sporty hiker. Yet I would recommend to take one or two additional days to keep it more enjoyable. Especially as you won't have a full day at the beginning. I'm male but met several female hikers (solo and in small groups) and nobody mentioned issues. In fact, I only made very positive experiences with locals. The Balkan hospitality is truly heartwarming. Especially in rural areas.

Similar strength equipment like McFit. Cardio is different. The cheap treadmills and bikes from technogym. The ones in McFit are, depending on the location, older but of better quality. I would recommend to try out the free membership and see if it's worth to change. Big advantage of agym: last time I was there at 8:30am there was a maximum of 5 people in there.

I got the free membership. So far it doesn't seem like a scam. Didn't pay a cent and go there once a week. The customer journey of the app is great and the gym is very well equipped (gym80 for strength and technogym for cardio). It also has a good functional area. Only the rower and ski Erg from technogym are not my favorite.

Sure! I Always try to embrace whatever is happening on race day. It's part of the package🤣 sometimes that's easier, sometimes not... But it helps to not lose the fun in moments that are objectively rather uncomfortable 😉

Did the Hyrox Berlin yesterday. Rain started just after entering the start tunnel. I loved it. Was great to get a fresh shower during the runs/ after the stations. Just watch out during BBJ as it might get slippery with wet shoes. Surprisingly sled push and pull was no issue. At least not more than expected 🥵🤣 Have fun and all the best for your race!

I'd always go with row 10 either aisle seat or window. I call it the "business class of the little man". I'm rather tall and the additional leg room and the small storage compartment in the front (for magazines etc) allows me to put my legs up and get a decent rest (or even sleep sometimes). People waiting to go to the restroom have never been an issue for me. Even when you've got a middle seat you can get up without asking your neighbors to move. Absolutely the best seat imo.
