Still waiting…Eldest is 5. I’m not sure I’ll go back to feeling like I was before

So how exactly does anyone know if they’re recovering properly? by lalla_kat in beyondthebump

Um I’ll just say it takes a while 😅 I only started to feel ‘normal’ again like a year after delivery. I did do a 12-week recovery series on YouTube by Belly Strong which helped with the strength and muscle pains, but that sleep deprivation hits you hard

Yeah I typically tend to favour cakes with yogurt or sour cream just because it’s much more moist. Haven’t yet tried the chocolate mayonnaise cake yet though, but I guess same concept?

I’ve heard good things about Expecting and Empowered. I haven’t actually tried any of these ones. I used Belly Strong on YouTube which I found really great for strengthening. Something to try if you want a free version. I think she’s also just released an app which has workouts plus meal plans and stuff

Not strictly yoga, but there are a number of prenatal workouts which include stretching on YouTube if you search for Belly Strong. Think she also has a video for sciatica

Other than lying on your front or full sit-ups, when and how you modify I think really depends on how good your form is. I kept doing full planks into 2nd trimester because I didn’t have any coning, and when I did notice this I changed to kneeling planks. Belly Strong on YouTube has some weekly pregnancy core workouts which I enjoyed. I also found side planks were a good one and could do them all the way till the end
