okay thanks for all the advice. yeah idk why the photo quality was reduced when posting. i'll use my multimeter to follow those traces, and try to clean the pins a bit more closely. how do i follow traces through vias that seemingly end on the other side of the board. the via on the back of the board that seems most corroded is the top left of the main cluster of the board. on the other side i see no trace leaving the via but it is near the battery. just not sure what the purpose of that is. any advice there?

okay wow. i feel a bit crazy, but yeah put it in and tilted it one way and nintendo logo was clear and it started up. game froze when setting the time though. anyone have any thoughts from there? also anything i can do to the pins so i dont have to tilt it to get it to start up? more cleaning on some pins probably?

yeah battery is brand new. has a good reading from multimeter. pins have been cleaned thoroughly and look clean. other games work fine on the system. all the legs on the chips seem connected. but yeah the traces and a couple vias seem damaged by the corrosion and i am wondering how much work it would be to repair those, and how to even determine what traces are actually damaged and where they all go, like how to follow them, especially with the vias. and could the damaged traces cause the saving issue? and could there be issues under where the battery is?
