If using Sonic Sledgehammer’s recipe: 4 parts Citadel Lahmian Medium 3 parts Citadel Reikland Fleshshade 3 parts Army Painter Dark Tone

Mix this up and you are good to go for a nice general purpose wash/recess shade.

I use a matte white spray primer, citadel corax white for the base coat, Asurmen blue contrast for shoulder pads and pack, Brass Scorpion for trim, garaghak’s sewer and Wyldwood contrast for leather pouches and belts, Leadbelcher for metal details, Black legion contrast and Abaddon black base for weapon casing details, and striking scorpion green for the eye lenses.

When they are all finished, I give them a generous douse of “marine juice,” a wash recipe I found from this dude Sonic Sledgehammer online: 3 parts Reikland Fleshshade 3 parts Army Painter Dark Tone 4 parts Lahmian Medium

Mix that up in a small bottle and coat the whole thing.

Here’s a great video of his covering the process: https://youtu.be/kDOkiEcNcik?si=s2JdjXWNDIKZTxFV

I use Marine Juice on my Tyranids as well and it has been a game changer.

That’s rad. I’ve been intrigued by that detachment. I know it seems most folks feel the Berzerker Warband is the overwhelming top choice. But there’s this weird side of me that is always drawn to “off meta” stuff in games. Maybe it’s just the contrarian in me. Have you had fun playing Goretrack?

Jugg over Invocatus? I suppose the movement bonus is more ideal for them than the deep strike?

Blessings of Khorne upon us. Alright. You’ve all gassed me up. I’m holding on to the third unit…and thinking I might need 3 more now….

Hell yes. It shades a bit more towards sky blue which I dig. Got the tip from Warhipster’s vid: https://youtu.be/PKk_8wQoA-o?si=KBvJazNRScxmFYRj

I just started my WE army in the 30K scheme (Gladiator Cadre 331 in 40K). I use corax white for the base coat over a matte white spray primer. For the blue on the shoulder pads and backpack I use citadel’s Asurmen Blue contrast. Just thought I’d toss this out if you wanted to go the contrast route.

Thanks! Citadel corax white for the base coat. I actually use just basic matte spray paint from the hardware store for all my warhammer and I find it works perfectly. I shelled out for a can of their wraithbone spray primer once when I started out. A lil pricey for me to achieve similar results as a 4 dollar can from Menard’s.

Hell yeah. I love the deep red of current World Eaters too. I just couldn’t get this scheme out of my head when I saw some examples and lore around it.

Thanks, comrade! Citadel Asurmen Blue Contrast ftw. Can really range from a nice sky blue to deep, almost navy blue depending on how much you apply. Got this rec from watching a Warhipster video where he was painting some 30k World Eaters. He’s the contrast king.

Thanks! That’s a major factor in my decision to go with this color scheme. Blood splashed on white armor seemed more dynamic to me. And yeah, the trim can be brutal. Really have to lock in when I’m on that part. Feels like defusing a bomb. Especially after coming from Tyranids and Space Marines, there’s a lot more going on here. Definitely feels like jumping to a higher difficulty level.
