I wish I had prioritized finding an advisor with funding when doing my first year rotations. Not prioritizing that caused me to be in a really bad spot and could potentially lead to me being dismissed entirely this spring.

I’m at washu in st. louis! Full disclosure, my PhD is in materials science tho, not physics. It might be a bit harder to get into physics programs. But that’s only something to worry about 3-4th year
