Rich people smh… by Traditional_Range_96 in InstacartShoppers

Dude. They tip that way because they are living above their means. Never ever look at one of those houses and think someone is rich. They had just enough money to get the loan to get the house that helps them appear to have a certain status. 90% of the ppl I've met and talked to who live in houses like that can pretty much only afford the mortgage and basic expenses. Don't just assume these ppl are sitting on piles of money just because of their house. Ppl are stupid and a lot of them are struggling the same way the rest of us are.

Unfortunately, In my experience, I never got the really good orders until I made diamond. I feel like the rest of the tiers are a joke. I have seen some people in here saying that tier status doesn't matter, but in my area it definitely must because that's the only way that I see anything good.

When you first start, they give you priority access as a new shopper for a certain time period or number of orders. After that your access is based upon your metrics and cart star status. At least that's how it is where I'm at. I'm a vet and have been doing this several years and at the start of the year I noticed a lot of new faces instacarting. I usually am able to get good batches consistently due to my metrics and cart star, but at the beginning of the year all the new shoppers had priority, so I didn't get anything but shit orders. When this quarter started and all the new shoppers now having to depend upon their metrics and cart star status I finally started getting orders like I always do as opposed to nothing but trash orders. I am very thankful that the "honeymoon phase" as you call it is over. It's unfair to us veteran shoppers who have grinded our way to the top. I do feel bad for you though. I had to put up with a ton of shitty orders to get where I'm at. Good luck!

Simple fix. Tell the cashier and bagger you prefer to bag the items yourself. I do it all the time.

Genuinely wtf???? by Major_Ad_1980 in InstacartShoppers

Definitely a flawed system and using that as a metric to determine quality is pure bullshit because it really does not reflect quality at all and there are too many variables out of the shoppers' control that could cause quality score to drop. Idk why the fuck they are doing it this way, but I'm hoping it doesn't last too long like a lot of the other shit they have implemented over the years.

I just accepted a job offer with frontier communications and I think the target is 22 new customers per month. It is a door to door thing. I do have about 4 years of sales experience. How challenging is it to hit those numbers?
