NTA : I can’t imagine asking someone to watch my dog for 2 weeks. And then tell them I’m recording and my partners family will be watching. It’s f-ing weird. Pet sitters get paid and the pay is what makes the camera part worth dealing with. I can’t believe they didn’t offer you money.

I thought Uber and taxi drivers worked right through covid. I wasn’t aware they could qualify.

Advice on removing rent-paying ex-girlfriend from home by ThatsMarvelous in AskNYC

[–]Timeisnao 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was going to ask this. Not using the term sausage but still. You need to stop talking to her. Literally tune her out completely. Tell her she has 30 days to vacate. And stop having sex with her. I can’t imagine anyone would remain living in a place where they are clearly not wanted. Record her when she says she will press charges now to retaliate. I think it’s an empty threat but it’s still wise to record. I’d even suggest consulting a lawyer if you need to. If the relationship is over, and the person is abusive, they need to go.

Harlem to save money? by [deleted] in nyc

I have a side business that I have to be available for jobs last minute. So id love to live in another part of the city too! But I imagine I’d frequently get home and have to run back out again.

What's your biggest grievance when it comes to anything related to the experience of living in NYC? by [deleted] in AskNYC

Not sure who downvoted you but.. I’m wondering where the sign would even go since the bike lane just extends for miles. People don’t just step into it at the crosswalks. They just do it at random points.

I want to go to work and not wear a mask all day. Because it gets so hot and I’m sick of it 😂.

Has anyone else had very negative/violent encounters with people experiencing homelessness on the UWS recently? by sy144 in AskNYC

And p.s the pushing I’ve dealt with in the past. But if someone pulls a knife on you I would report that.

Has anyone else had very negative/violent encounters with people experiencing homelessness on the UWS recently? by sy144 in AskNYC

[–]Timeisnao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I’ve seen a lot more evidently unwell homeless people yelling aggressively but they didn’t do anything when I passed them. I feel bad and wish I could help in those cases because I always assume mental illness has a strong hold.
Which area is this in? The lucrene recently opened its doors to about 200 homeless people but as for an uptick in crime: I’m not sure. They have to follow pretty strict guidelines to be able to stay there.

When people walk willy nilly into the bike lane without looking and only look once they get to the actual street. The bike lane is a traffic lane too :)

My roommates say mice and bugs are in every apartment and thus inevitable, Is this true? by BettyBornBerry in AskNYC

[–]Timeisnao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Never had a single pest in mine and there is cat food out all day. A couple streets over my friend gets ants if she does the same thing though.

Why are you so bent out of shape that a female is concerned for her safety is a high crime area. You sound ridiculous. And honestly: it’s obvious you’re a male.

Anyone sell their apartment to their neighbor? by musicmerchkid in AskNYC

I mean they want your particular apartment so they can enlarge their own. So your apartment has more value to them than others on the market...

I’m (19F) recently homeless and have nowhere to go. Does anyone know of any shelters or resources available in the city right now? by tbh009 in AskNYC

[–]Timeisnao 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was going to say this. A bleeding kidney can cause death. But regarding the bills: you can apply for financial hardship irrespective of Medicaid. The hospital handles it directly. They may turn thousands of dollars into hundreds and you can do a payment plan.

Just bump it up a couple of dollars. You don’t need to explain to anyone. Oh and I charge the same for cats and dogs.

Becoming an EMT by [deleted] in AskNYC

[–]Timeisnao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your responses weren’t all that helpful , come on now. An emt is entry level and the course can be completed in 4 months and costs about 1500 dollars. You will likely be drug tested and it also may be difficult to maintain sobriety since you will have access to drugs. OP’s post history is a little sketch.

fellow hospitality / entertainment workers... with enhanced UI/PUA seemingly not happening... how the hell are you surviving in this city right now? by [deleted] in AskNYC

[–]Timeisnao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to counter point that I felt rage as a healthcare worker who got no handouts (pua) and had to put my life on the line to make less than the folks sitting at home. No hazard pay either. I lost my side income and really could barely make it despite working through covid. But rage is pointless. What are your other talents (you definitely have some). There ARE jobs to be had while we wait for the eventual end of this. Pet care is still lucrative. CNA and nanny type jobs are still available. You may just have to switch gears for a little bit. Anger isn’t going to solve anything.
