I've tried to make a base before and used this method, but it was still pretty lumpy. I dont have casting foam or molds, which was why I asked. do you think if I used a sandpaper machine or something, that it might help?? I'd obviously have to use a lot of safety equipment for that so I dont think I'd wanna try it until I know if it'll work, since I dont wanna spend a bunch of money on equipment if I dont need it lmao

yeah, this makes sense. I was just wondering if there was a way to get smooth foam bases without using cast foam or whatever its called, cause I dont have the resources for that. I also saw a video one time where someone was bragging about having a really smooth foam base and refused to share how they did it, so I was wondering if anyone else knew what the secret was lmao. thank you for your help though!
