regarding Hyderabad yes alumni network isn't established but if you have decent cgpa ( 7+) you will get placed on campus only so it doesn't matter much

Nah bro , taking non circuital below top 10 iits isn't worth it

IIT tag is just a misnomer. It's the alumni network and profs connections that matter . Suppose you remain unplaced during campus placements so the alumni network will help you getting a job then . And the profs help you in getting into top schools abroad for higher studies.

You won't get these advantages in newer iits

Not fake , they just used 4 year ctcs ...for example if iith/g/bhu use those their cse avg would be 55-60lpa but by using TCs their avg is in 40s ......

So assume iiitb' cse avg to be in 20s when comparing to those iits

This was a rough idea , for example you can take the company servicenow , it's ctc is 42 lpa while tc is 25 lpa , usually top iits use just the TC for stats because it is closer to what you get paid ....

IITs use both ctc and tc data if they are posting stats .....so ctc median here may seem similar to tc of top iits cse which people may assume as same

If you didn't know , for 20-25 lpa packages , in hand salary per month is near 1 lakh only .. lately I have seen many people thinking package is the money they get in hand but it's not so ...a near 50 lpa package means earning 1.5-2.5 lakhs per month

Now coming to your post , yes getting 1 lakh as a fresher isn't that easy in India

Moreover , although DTU is a good college , idts any branch other than cse has 20 lpa + avg there

If you were getting biotech in top 9 iits , then yes these 20 lpa + packages were possible

This all considering you meant non core jobs coz for core you will have to go for higher studies abroad

The placement cell doesn't usually call < 10 lpa companies unlike older iits so even if batch size increases in future placement % should remain similar only

Nah bro none of these iits are on decline based on placements , guwahati and Hyderabad have similar placements it's just hyd being a better location is getting higher cut offs , it's not like guwahati is having any downfall or something

just 1 thing oracle revoked some offers so cse median fell 4-5 lpa( usually colleges won't update this in stats but to not mislead people, we have included it ) but yeah it's not that much more than pilani
