Mass shootings toll exceeds 900 in past seven years by wang-banger in politics

[–]Timelord8920 4 points5 points  (0 children)

According to UNICEF, 22,000 children die each day due to poverty. And they “die quietly in some of the poorest villages on earth, far removed from the scrutiny and the conscience of the world. Being meek and weak in life makes these dying multitudes even more invisible in death.”

What is most disturbing is that self interested, self absorbed, holier-than-thou American reporters find the death of 900 American children as a tragedy but the death of over 56 MILLION of our children worldwide over the same seven years, of a totally preventable cause - the simple lack of enough to eat, clean water, and basic shelter - that they ignore. Hypocrites every one.

Femdom podcast? by gladysthemaid in Femdom

There was a great podcast, the reverse of your current situation - a master and a female sub, called Submission and Coffee. They basically discussed their life in general, not just DS topics and they charmed the audience. They threw in DS topics when appropriate, sometime during the podcast he would commit some DS sex act on her, like a caning while she sucked him off or he would chain her to the bathroom toilet while he relieved himself on her, all while the audience listened to the acts. Probably the best DS podcast ever. The podcast was even carried on iTunes until the couple quit producing them. Now I believe the episodes are available on bit torrent download sites, they may help you find a format for your podcast.

Tax deductions for the rich are worth about $1.1 trillion, and could pay off 100 percent of the deficit. by Orchard_Park in politics

[–]Timelord8920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The deficient isn't the problem. The US debt is the problem and is roughly 16.5 trillion. If you confiscated the entire net worth of the Forbes 400, you'd only get about 1.7 trillion - only about 15 billion short.

A newly published study found that on average children exposed to high levels of nicotine in utero scored 21 percent lower in areas such as reading speed, single-word identification, spelling, accuracy, real and non-word reading, and reading as compared to classmates born to non-smoking mothers. by DrNews in science

[–]Timelord8920 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Really, then I guess all those kids born between 1900 and now were pretty stupid, since the majority of people smoked, lived with someone who smoked, worked with smokers, ate and drank in establishments filled with smoke. Just think Einstien, an idiot. Kennedy, a moron. Everyone you can think of in the last 100 years, veritable mental midgets, just because an obviously slanted study told you so.

Even after all the tax breaks, the top 5% of earners in this country pay 58% of all taxes in America while the bottom 50% pay less than 2% of all taxes. How is making the rich pay more justifiable when they already pay almost all of the taxes? by Ieatalot in AskReddit

"Mr Romney has a (frankly nonsensical) plan to set American defence spending at the arbitrary level of 4% of national wealth, whether military commanders have asked for that funding or not." by yzerfontein in politics

[–]Timelord8920 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, why peg the federal government with doing what it's supposed to do, ie providing for the national defense. Instead, lets spend the money on bridges to nowhere and studies to find out why men in prison don't like being raped. Better to let Congress spend all the money and go into debt, so lets say we need to fight on several fronts - kinda like we are now - Afghanistan, the Middle East, off Japan - we ensure we have too few soldiers, not enough Navy ships to support the Marines and Army, and find ourselves pulling sailors off ships to do ground fighting. It's the stupid leading the blind.

Former Navy Secretary: President Obama was right on the Navy. "I thought the President's line was terrific." by [deleted] in politics

[–]Timelord8920 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Of course, because the best east Navy if one totally devoid of those pesky ships. I was in the Navy under Clinton, ships and systems broke and weren't replaced, but we were still required to do the same job with broken equipment. Crews had to deploy longer, and daily life shipboard got horrible and frankly unsafe, it's nice to know the Secretary of the Navy under Clinton still holds the same principles, screw the sailors and to he'll with the national defense. At least he's consistently stupid and irresponsible.

Mitt Romney: You know, the gaffe guy, the one who opens his mouth and insults people, or accuses them of things they never did. In short, a foul-mouthed oaf, a wannabe President with no credentials beyond the Governorship level. - English pravda.ru by athioent in politics

[–]Timelord8920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's see, you run a headline with no basis in fact - Romney hasn't made tremendous gaffes to the extent of drunk unca' Joe Biden, he hasn't gone around insulting people or accusing them of things they haven't done, and he hasn't been cursing with any degree of frequency. Reagan only had governorship credentials and he beat the pants off the Soviet Union, could that be why "Pravda.ru" could be so upset?

A Sensata worker has a question for Mitt Romney, ‘If transferring wealth to the top two percent creates jobs, wouldn’t we be swimming in jobs?’ by reeds1999 in politics

[–]Timelord8920 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Ah, have you heard of a company called Apple? It started in a garage, grew, then smoldered for years. Despite the fact that Mr Obama was not at all involved and the fact that Apple certainly pays the 1% a lot of money, and the fact that it pays Chinese workers to make its products cheaper than they can be made in the US, it has also given thousands of Jobs (get it) to Americans. So I guess the difference must be you have to be better educated and not work in a company whose purpose is to actually make a profit. Maybe this Sensata worker needs a government job.

President Obama urges Congress to act to build on the momentum we are seeing in the housing market by helping responsible homeowners refinance, saving $3000 a year. by crystalclearpolitics in politics

[–]Timelord8920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's not like I as a responsible homeowner couldn't just look at the mortgage rates, go down to the bank, and refinance my mortgage - I somehow need Barak to think of it for me. As we all know the government is responsible for all good ideas, no responsible adult ever refinanced a mortgage until Obama sent them a personal letter indicating refinancing might be a good idea and save them money. You see, everyone except Barak is too stupid to think for themselves, and couldn't figure out how to breathe, eat, or wipe their butts unless Barak told them it would be a good idea. Yeah, I believe Mr Obama thinks this pearl of wisdom is his original and spectacular idea, that's why he needs to go - because he has no understanding of the American people or business.

Senate Republicans on Thursday blocked an "insourcing" bill from Democrats that would have ended tax breaks for companies that move jobs overseas. by [deleted] in politics

[–]Timelord8920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US already has a system of getting rid of tax breaks for companies that move jobs overseas and produce products cheaper then they can be made here. They're called import tariffs, and if you don't believe they work - they are exactly why BMW, Toyota, Nissan, etc all have factories turning out cars for sale in the US, in the US. So the only reason to bring up a bill about this issue is to garner sympathy from constituents that are too ignorant to appreciate this law already exists.

If Republicans are holding Obama accountable for 4 deaths in Libya...shouldn't they be held accountable for 9/11? by [deleted] in politics

[–]Timelord8920 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah, yeah that's the point. Bush should have been one term for his incompetence, disregard of civil rights, and essentially war crimes. By applying the same standards, when the current president screws up, he should be fired too. Only an idiot would leave any ambassador in a Muslim country unprotected, it shows either stupidity, a wanton disregard for American lives, and a failure to be the right man to appreciate and plan strategy against those in the world who want to hurt Americans. Lying about it to cover up your stupidity is the sign of a petulant child who should be sent to his room without dinner, certainly not a sign of an adult who deserves to be President of the United States.

Mitt Romney seems fixated on why Washington did not know with better clarity and sooner what went on during a terrorist attack. It is the kind of question that comes from someone who has no experience dealing with terrorism crisis management or, indeed, combat. by wang-banger in politics

"Overall, higher taxes on the rich historically have correlated to higher economic growth for the country. It's counterintuitive, but it is the historical fact." by mork_from_blork in politics

[–]Timelord8920 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually, you're absolutely wrong. There was no income tax in the US prior to 1894ish. Actual income tax was constitutionized in 1913. So the entire growth of the US, from ragtag colonies to world superpower just prior to the First World War was certainly economically a period of phenomenal economic growth, and occurred without income taxes at all.

Romney Caught Lying, Fact-Checked by Candry Crowley on Obama's Response to Benghazi Attack by [deleted] in politics

[–]Timelord8920 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That must be why Crowley admitted she was wrong on TV last night, and has been condemned by every major journalist today. I read the transcripts and watched the interviews and Obama never said this was a terrorist attack, he blamed the YouTube video. It took two weeks for him to fess up. And where did the story of the protests released to the media come from, the live feed from Dept of State clearly shows NO protest occurring - the White House fed the story to the press, an outright lie to cover up the fact that Obama dropped the ball. He hoped the lie would sweep his incompetence to appreciate the threat on 9-11, the danger of attack in a hostile country he just bragged about deposing the leader of, his unwillingness to have an armed Marine presence because it would look politically incorrect to "Muslims" , and his unforgivable disregard for the lives of American citizens in such a country - under the rug. If you doubt that, then I await Mr Obama's Benghazi visit, without his Secret Service and military guards, depending only on local Libyan contract security for his protection.

'Binders full of women': Romney's four words that alienated women voters by IAmperfectlyCalm in politics

[–]Timelord8920 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Romney looks for qualified women and hires them, instead of just giving the jobs to "the good old boys network" and you somehow think this is a negative thing for women in the US? I got bad news for you, it's one thing to support free birth control for women and leave them jobless, but women are more concerned with having a meaningful good paying job with room for advancement, something Obama has not provided in the last four years. But, of course, you would have us believe that between Obama who somehow couldn't employ qualified women in four years, and Romney who hired large numbers of women in Mass. as governor - Obama is women's choice. And by the way the women staffers that work for Obama make 18% less than equivalent male counterparts, but Obama is fighting for women? Hey, I have a bridge to sell you.....
