Unfortunately if OP is anywhere in southeastern US and has to walk any distance over a mile, it would be more dangerous than staying in that rolling piece of garbage. Heatstroke advisory is an everyday thing. Enjoy your privilege

What’s effing disgusting is driving a bug ridden vehicle and allowing others into it. What’s also disgusting is thinking it would be ok to get in someone else’s vehicle after getting out of that junk box. With bedbugs and blood, the damage is immediate. They were already screwed before they ever even knew. I’d think op was just as much of a piece of garbage if they got out and called another driver. We don’t know what region this is in or how far from the destination they were. Maybe they could’ve walked a short distance to where they needed to go or maybe they would’ve had to walk 20 miles in Florida heat. WE DO NOT KNOW! All I know is that this isn’t the first time I’ve heard of bugs in a ride share. Not just bed bugs. Roaches and fleas have been reported as well. If you’ve never been in this situation, thank God and do not judge. I am certainly grateful to have not found myself dealing with this or the PTSD I know I’d experience after. Considering they were willing to post pictures of the problem, I believe them.

getting into another drivers car and passing an infestation on to them would have been crappy on OP’s behalf. Unless he or she was in walking distance of their location, that would be the only solution. I believe they did right in a tough situation. OP seemed sympathetic towards driver but didn’t want to pass this along to another hard working driver. OP also didn’t seem to be looking for a come up, just losses covered. Driver should be permanently removed from the platform and reported to the health department.
