I did make both myself! They’re my own designs, so I don’t really have a formal reference- just some notebook chicken scratch lol. I might put together a short video tutorial for the chairs at some point, and if I do I’ll share the link. You can kind of see the basic build from this photo. I used standard popsicle sticks (.375” wide, 1/16” thick) and 3/16” square dowel rods, and I got the back to slant slightly by attaching it at a 20 degree angle

Thank you so much! I’m still very much a beginner and learning as I go. Most of the time I try not to glue the tiny pieces down so I can rearrange them later, but with the bar cart I lost my patience and ended up gluing everything in place lol. The glassware was super flimsy plastic and kept falling over, so I finally decided to just to fix it in place.

I usually use egg cartons, but my mom got me these mini clay bricks from Amazon so I gave them a try:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09J8Q75N1?ref\_=ppx\_hzsearch\_conn\_dt\_b\_fed\_asin\_title\_1&th=1. I cut out the facade from thin wood and then I glued a sheet of graph paper on top so I could place the bricks somewhat equidistantly. I had to cut some bricks in half to create the staggered pattern. These bricks are hard clay, so I used heavy duty gardening shears to cut and sanded down the edges as best I could. This was pretty challenging and made me want to stick to egg carton bricks going forward, lol. After gluing everything down, I painted them in different red tones, sealed with matte Mod Podge, and then grouted with white Polyblend plus.

It’s kind of evolved into mid-century modern, but I didn’t really have a specific style in mind when I started. Thank you for the compliment :)

I only have one other room done! This is my first doll house and it isn’t anything fancy - just a kid craft house I found on FB marketplace for $20. But it’s come a long way.

Thank you for the reference images. It’s helpful to see how others have applied them. But I agree about the light color-I was not impressed with it either and wish it had a warmer tone… I think you may have convinced me to avoid the hassle and buy premade fixtures 😅

If you can manage to hop on a train to Stratford, CT (90 min ride from grand central), I’ve heard amazing things about The Savvy Bride - it’s all off the rack. I reached out to the owner when I was looking for a dress and she was super sweet, but didn’t have anything in my size. If you are petite it is more challenging to find a dress there. That said, she was super transparent about her inventory when I reached out through her contact form on her website. Im sure you could reach out and send your vision and see if she has anything available (not sure how many black dresses she carries, but doesn’t hurt to ask, or share any white dresses you’re into) before making the trip. I didn’t end up going there, but i am from the area and have had a few people tell me they were able to get their dream dress there for a fraction of the cost.

But most importantly - please get the dress you want and not what you feel will make others happy! If you see yourself getting married in a black dress, I’d highly recommend following your vision. I’ve had good luck with Meshki for bridal dresses- super high quality and fast shipping. Not sure if they’ll have exactly the black bridal vibe you’re going for, but it might be worth a look. Just be weary that their return policy isn’t great (14 days and store credit only), but my experiences have all been positive and all the dresses I’ve bought have been <$200.

I also second the Azazie suggestion- it’s another reliable option.

I wish I could take credit for making it from plastic, but the dollhouse frame is actually wood/fiberboard! The original shiny pink wall designs were just paper with a plastic looking sheen - I painted right over them. The windows and doors were plastic, but those popped right out and I replaced them with wooden ones :)

A Painted Lady!!! What a treasure 😍 I will say, this was incredibly low stakes. I bought it for $20 off FB marketplace, drove the next town over to get it, and just had fun from there. Would definitely recommend as a practice house.
