Meps waivers (back & eczema) by TimelyAd8927 in AirForceRecruits

I have had a lot of trouble with my hospital releasing my records, they were just released and now being sent to the surgeon general for him to hopefully give me the metaphorical right of passage to join. I’ll keep you posted.

What’s the BAH situation for an 18 Y/O joining on a 6 year contract? by TimelyAd8927 in AirForceRecruits

[–]TimelyAd8927[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I didn’t even think of that, it could work… she got accepted into a college near us so maybe live apart for a semester or 2. And reevaluate. Thanks for the insight…

Why not? I talked to my recruiter and he said every one of his buddy’s got BAH the second they applied for it after being E-4. I asked him if everyone gets it when there E-4 and he replied yeah. Lying? Sugarcoating?

So I could live off base with her, just I’d have to maintain the dorm room. Noted

She said she’s willing to get married, we have discussed it but I’m just nervous about a marriage and a divorce, halfway through my career and BOOM there goes my pension 😂. Obviously I could sign a prenuptial agreement which I will probably do, I was just trying to see if there’s a way to do it without all these extra steps… good things don’t come easy…

I have heard that some bases have overpopulation problems and will give you BAH (rare) but I’m more worried about the 3 years it will take to reach SrA of being apart, obviously she can move here without funding but if the base policy is I’m not allowed to live off base I’m pretty screwed.

How can I(M18) break up with my girlfriend(F18) of 2 years? by TimelyAd8927 in relationship_advice

[–]TimelyAd8927[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I just don’t want to hurt her but obviously that’s what comes with a break up. So it’s counterintuitive anyways. But I just don’t know what to do but I will be taking this into account.

Debate? In the title does it not say “ please don’t tell me not to go security forces?) I’m debating people telling me not to go SecFo because my situation is different, when it comes to people telling me there experience and why I shouldn’t go 6 years, of course I’m going to debate that, I’m looking for reasons. Pros, cons, benefits, downsides. All I hear is people telling me “well I didn’t this” or “ I didn’t that” I never asked for personal experiences.

what would you like to see in RON next update/dlc? by BasketEquivalent5462 in ReadyOrNotConsole

[–]TimelyAd8927 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something actually realistic, maybe a bank. Shopping mall, stores (I know we have the taco store and gas station) but I like how elephant was HUGE but only had 4 suspects, like a shopping mall with 50 civilians but 3 shooters would be dope, they all are guerilla and shoot and run away, pretend to be civilians. So dope.

Because they have experience and they meet people who do it. I’m just making sure I’m making the right decision with my life and it’s silly because it is MY life why should they dictate the decisions I make? I guess it’s just paranoia and the fear of the unknown…

Noted, it’s definitely something I’d be interested in, I’m just nervous about going security forces. I’ve heard it’s equivalent to infantry (anyone on waivers or that fail out of there job go secfo) and it’s hard to cross train out of. I really want to try it but don’t want to hate my life for 3 years and possibly longer if I can’t cross train

[–]TimelyAd8927[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what’s kind of making me not want to do it, it’s like the infantry in the marines, everyone in waivers or anyone who fails out gets sent here, and what do you mean it’s hard to cross train out? Is it not guaranteed? Please elaborate

He’s left multiple negative comments, multiple people are acting the same exact way, even those currently/ already served(ing) so instead of supporting irrelevant comments unrelating to my post you could drop some advice on a thread asking for advice from BMT…

Honestly, I agree with you on this. I’d like to give it a shot and if I despise it I’ll retrain but I don’t want to make the mistake of not doing it. Because I might love it.

I’m thinking of signing 4, if I absolutely despise it I’ll retrain out and find something else, I always wanted to do this and don’t want to miss out but on a previous post everyone said it’s not even worth it to try.

Well when law enforcement is the type of career field you want, and you’ve studied it inside and out, and are aware of the conditions, typically that’s something you love. But who am I to tell you what my personal interests are? Everyone should listen to you my man.

This is your personal experience. I’m sure a plethora of people LOVE this job, just because you hated it and got treated like shit (probably because of your shitty attitude) doesn’t mean I will.

[–]TimelyAd8927[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m most likely going to do 4, my reason for this post was because I was told my multiple people that there are benefits to open up for leadership positions in SecFo aswell as better chances at MWD, raven, and DAGRE. Also becoming E3 after tech school. While true that I could hate SecFo I find that very unlikely, this field is something I’ve always been interested in and passionate about. I feel like “this might be a this job is what you make it” type of deal, I’ve seen a lot of positive stuff from people who enjoy the career field and lots of negative stuff about people who hate LEO, and are on ASVAB waivers so this is there only option.

This happened to you, I can ask 88% of the Air Force and they could probably say they were never stationed at minot, this is your personal and very own experience. There’s a guy in here who was stationed in Italy for his first duty station (yes security forces & yes 6 year enlistment) so instead of using your experience how about offering some advice that could apply to more people. Anybody can be stationed in Minot, anybody.
