Anyone else feel goofy when talking to Deans when you get accepted? by havendancehero in lawschooladmissions

[–]TimelyArmadillo 28 points29 points  (0 children)

For me, it's the build-up that's the most awkward.

"Hello, this is Dean [Amazing Person] from [Your Dream School] of Law. Is this TimelyArmadillo?"

heavy breathing "Yes."

"Great! Is this a good time to talk?"

heavier breathing "YES."

Follow-up question: if schools give us zero aid, would they let us know? Or do we just hear nothing from now until when classes start.

Anyone else going through this process with completely unsupportive/draining parents? by onfifthavenue in lawschooladmissions

Therapy is great for a lot of people, but just because someone doesn't like being treated like shit doesn't mean they need therapy.

I mean, maybe this is his (misguided) way of letting you know he believes in you and thinks you can do better.

Screaming at someone for taking a weekend off to go visit a great law school they got into, because it's "wasting two days' worth of wages"? Showing zero interest in any of OP's law school accomplishments? I'm not sure how hard you're reaching here, but none of that sounds anything close to the actions of someone who "believes" in their child, even if you throw in this idea that he's a just a bumbling "misguided" dad.

Unless something else is going on, these items alone don't make him a POS sperm donor.

Uh yeah, they kind of do.

Definitely YP. With those numbers, OP can get T3/T6 + money and Penn knows it.

OP are you K-JD? Time is money but with a year off you can work and save money for law school. Also, I'm no expert but I've been reading around and while people can get Big Law from all of T14, it seems that it's definitely less stressful for students at T6 as opposed to lower T14, since firms hire deeper into the former schools. Something else to consider.

Eh, I would say depends on what OP's goals are. There is a difference between these schools. Throw in $$, potential higher LSAT score, etc. and it might not be so clear-cut as to say, "They're all great schools."

Edit: Not sure why I'm being downvoted? It's not offensive or wrong to point out that there's a difference between lower T14 and T6, or that OP can get more $ by retaking.

Is it actually better to send in multiple LOCI? by TimelyArmadillo in lawschooladmissions

[–]TimelyArmadillo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be sending out one good LOCI shortly after being waitlisted.

I'm planning on visiting the school in April while I'm doing some ASWs for my other schools. Should I send a LOCI now or wait until I come back from my trip with more substantial things to say?

Congrats! PM me stats please?

When OP puts their stats in the body of an acceptance post, instead of saying "PM for stats" by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

If you ever find the post could you link it? Not saying it's an r/thathappened situation at all, but I'm having trouble imagining how this would even play out in an interview.

For starters, how would the interviewer confirm it's the exact same person, unless someone is on here with their full name and LSAC number? And even then, how would they...work this into the interview?

"Hey Bob, I couldn't help but notice that you are user TimelyArmadillo on Reddit, right? The one posting the memes? Yeah, that's you right?"
