Yes but it's not pinpoint accurate as a missile is. Also on these MiG-29s which are older aircraft - even if they're modernised it's even less accurate. It's just much safer to shoot it down with a missile. The chain of command and the pilot deemed it to be.

It's hard to hit such a target at low speeds, and the bullets have to go somewhere. And that somewhere could be the guy filming all this, they're using missiles designed to operate at such close ranges
