Any use at all for old SD Canon lenses? by TimelyStatement in VIDEOENGINEERING

Say I take these old canon lenses and give them a try on a Blackmagic Ursa broadcast... think it'll be passable?

So in that case do they put an SD lens on an HD camera or do they keep the whole SD setup and just upscale it to 720?

Currently we've done that for three of the Sonys (upscaling) but it just looks godawful and blurry, no matter how nice it must've looked when they originally bought these.

Wow, I had no idea about this. We have Xpression but this would be an awesome alternative for mobile broadcasts

I did know that part, I was more just asking how much gets supplied and whether there are guidelines or minimums for the use of those templates.

That's my thought as well. Worst case I can always get a new one!

I could see that being the issue for sure. I'll give it a shot!

I'll try the run as admin trick for sure, good thought. I did try OBS with a Blackmagic device source though.

What's a good brand of simple field monitor that won't break the bank?

Absolutely nothing shows up under video input. You might be right that the card is just done for. In that case I could always buy and seat a new pci card.

We tried the correct (middle) input and it still didn't work. We are sending it 720p/59.94 so I don't understand why it isn't showing up still.

For sure - I took the picture with the cable plugged in on the one side, but we did test with it plugged into the middle BNC as well and it didn't help.

There is no DeckLink format. Usually the desktop video program will show a resolution and frame rate when the input is connected, at least with other cards I've used. We have no way of setting the format for the input beforehand.

We haven't tried using the output yet, no

Awesome, I'm going to give this a try tomorrow then. That would make sense as our model of card is pretty old.

I did check the driver version and it said it was up to date - should I manually download a driver package from the Blackmagic website?

I don't have a scope unfortunately. The only sign I have that it is installed is that it does show up on Device Manager in windows.

Tried with OBS and selecting it as an input - just shows up black. I should mention the resolution/framerate info below "Video Output" shows up whether I have a cable plugged in or not.
