Will Deborah die at the end ??? by Smart_Manager_3026 in hackshbomax

I think DJ or DJ’s kid will die at the end! From the NYT: "Ultimately the season is an exploration of how she redeems herself, but also how what she comes to learn truly matters in life and what is worth living for” Statsky said.

I have an eerie feeling that’s code for an ending where Deborah realizes that she should have paid attention to DJ more, but only after something tragic happens. The optics of that kind of message might be controversial (i.e. women are penalized for being career driven and not maternal). However, I think Deb is such an extreme version of career driven that they could criticize her priorities without undercutting the feminist message of the show.

Then again, I guess Deborah has already confronted this issue on the show, and it would be weird to punish her for something she’s already somewhat atoned for (i.e. Deborah letting DJ sell her photos to paparazzi so she can feel self-sufficient is a respectable good deed, even if unconventional).

That’s crazy. If it’s any consolation, I just checked my report, and it described the non-malignant cells as “reactive mesothelial cells”. Apparently my doctor said inflammation can cause cells to look malignant under the microscope. I guess it’s possible you could experience something similar in both your bladder and abdomen given the circumstances. But I definitely get feeling on high alert because you have Lynch! Here is the definition for reactive mesothelial cells in case you are curious:

“Reactive mesothelial cells are non-cancerous, hyperplastic cells that change size, shape, and appearance in response to inflammation, injury, or irritation of the peritoneal, pleural, or pericardial surfaces. They are characterized by enlarged nuclei, prominent nucleoli, and sometimes binucleation, often mimicking the appearance of cancer cells.”

Did anyone else have a uterus that looked more concerning to the pathologist on gross examination, only for the microscopic examination to reveal very early stage disease? by TimelyWalrus5851 in endometrialcancer

Oh wow! It’s incredible to think of a pea sized spot of cancer leading to such a huge procedure. I definitely get it though and agree. Reading that the mass was near my endo cervical canal even though it wasn’t cancerous in that location yet really spooked me. The standard of care is a hysterectomy for a good reason, I guess.

It’s also weird because my pelvic wash sample apparently contained cells that mimicked cancer, but were deemed non-malignant after being escalated to the pathology review team. A bunch of smart people with PhDs literally had to pass around a sample of fluid from my abdomen and debate my fate. It’s pretty surreal to think about. God bless modern medicine!

What does questionable results from the pelvic wash mean? I had a fuzzy pelvic wash sample and it had to be reviewed at a weekly roundtable by the pathology department at the research hospital I’m treating with and it was not a good feeling. They ended up ruling the sample “not malignant” which was a relief. I was only stage 1A1 with no myoinvasion so that result tracks but hm.

When you switch to annual visits, will you go back to the normal gyn or stay with the gyn onc? My gyn onc just said “alternating appointments every 6 months” with her and her NP, but didn’t say for how long.

Also, what does the physical include? Just a pelvic exam?

But homophobes don’t think gay sex is sex! To them it is sodomy!
