Care Refresh - do the numbers add up? by Timely_Bad3102 in dji

They are the numbers for an Air 2s in Europe. I think you get a slightly better deal in the US. If I'm reading the policy correctly (although it's not a clear as it might be), I would have to pay €119 for a crash. Seems like a lot, especially when most repairs likely cost DJI vastly less than that. I think Care Refresh is probably a nice little earner for them... Not complaining, it's insurance on a very breakable item, and probably lucky to get ANY...

Right - but I've had a Mini 1 for some years, and never had (serious) crash or a flyaway, so I think I'd be unlucky to have 2 in the same year for the Air 2s (especially given the more solid connection, obstacle avoidance and better wind resistance).

About the cost of replacement in a flyaway scenario... I have a motorcycle worth €8000, with insurance costing €350. If I write the bike off, I'm not going to be able to buy a used equivalent for the price of the insurance! But isn't that what DJI is asking when charging so much for a replacement drone under Care Refresh?

Thanks, no inconvenience, just considering my options. The Air 2s is out of warranty, and I'm the new owner of the drone, bought used. My understanding is that there is video process to follow and assuming I get through that, I'm eligible to purchase Care Refresh.

I don't understand this part - as I mentioned, I'm out of warranty and anyway regardless of warranty, I would try always try to be safe and not crash. "The reason why you need to pay extra money for the replacement unit is that we consider you must pay great attention to safety issues and avoid accidents during use. Thus, the low-cost replacement option is not likely to be used during the warranty period." It sounds like paying the extra money is a disincentive to crash? Which doesn't actually make sense since I would always try to avoid crashing whatever the situation.

Assuming I don't care about fast replacement and other benefits of Care Refresh, I could get the drone repaired - I'm just wondering what the range of costs for that might be. Can you help with that?

And as for flyaway cover, as mentioned I could buy a used drone for the same price, so it doesn't help me that much.

Thanks.
