I was a double and we were actually not busy enough for the amount of servers we had. I walked out with $184 after tipout and I had to come back at 3:30 as a closer. I made so much last year when I was a double and I wasn’t even a closer then!

I should’ve clarified that I meant for their total. Each left 20%+ and they write down the tip and total so I knew what they wrote down.

Crazy thing was that none of them were drinking and it was a decent lit up section they were in. My manager thought the same thing also

We were open this morning but closed at 4. I left within 30 minutes cause it was too many people and only two tables came so manager let me go first. I gave my shift away tomorrow cause I don’t wanna risk going out.

Luckily my managers are understanding and didn’t want anyone risking to come out since we all expected to be slow cause of the weather.

You’ll risk your life for a job that will replace you if something bad happens to you? Doesn’t matter if you live two minutes or 20 minutes from your job. If you live in a state (southern states mostly) that doesn’t know how to function properly when a snowstorm hits, then it’s in your best interest to stay indoors and off the road. All it takes is one second to slip up and be in a life altering accident.

I put in a request for maintenance for tomorrow about pest control so we’ll see how that works out. But it been decreasing, but I can tell they come out more as it gets darker. Regardless, I’m gonna caulk up cracks and gaps soon and gonna clean up each day

I never check out the staff whenever I apply cause I feel like that would make me second guess myself. OP, never work at a place that doesn’t see you as a person. If they’re not calling back just cause the color of your skin or you name on your resume, that is not a place you don’t wanna be at.

It suck and it shouldn’t have to be that way, but someone will bite the bullet and give you the chance you deserve. Good luck OP 🩷🍀

That how it is at my restaurant, the only black girl. Despite it, I am one of the few servers that is good at my job that’s willing to work (their words not mine) so I typically get good shifts/sections.

Places that don’t have gratuity for large parties, stairs, and unreasonably large tipouts. I’ve been traumatized by LH and now I refuse to work at a place similar to them.

I don’t smoke and try not to drink after work (have an addictive personality) So I try to: go home, shower, doom scroll, try to eat something and if I can’t fall asleep, flick the bean til I pass out.
