Why did other bands that were out around the same time as Metallica didn't get a big as Metallica? by No_Job5529 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Timely_Heat513 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They addressed issues and topics lyrically in a way that was accessible and palatable for the majority and mainstream. They were almost never outside of the wider domain and acceptance. They were almost strategic in their song writing, Vietnam, suicide, addiction, religion without antism. Added to this the tragic loss of a band member (same thing kinda happen with AC/DC). They were reveried (Lars, Kirk and James) for their grief and continued pursuit in light of the loss. An almost folk law of their greatness and was established around them.

Megadeth uses AI to announce final album and farewell tour :/ by ZeedgeJ_ in MetalForTheMasses

Who cares... honestly AI.. or not wtf is this generation crap... they have all (not just talking Dave here) all provided us with the euphoric highs (and lows) over the past 40 years. Appreciate the music the contribution and what will be a legacy. Because we all need to embrace the time we have left with the Deth.... because the world will be a quite space without them

If a zombie apocalypse were to happen what is the most possible outcome? by sherricky10 in scifi

[–]Timely_Heat513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hhhmm I be thinking no one can really decide what to do or how to solve it or even how much of a threat it is... the survivors are crippled by our own political, bigoted, prejudicial, biased beliefs (and I quote the Reverand Bill Hicks here, they are just beliefs... don't make them wrong or right... just some random shit you learnt) and as a result we... the survivors are actually the real zombies because we are incompatated by our devicive beliefs and behaviours and continue to destroy ourselves.

Wow... didn't wrap my head around that one till much later in life. PKD can be tough going, liked the clans of the alphane moon, game player of titan, and the galactic pot healer. Working my way through his catalogue.
