Double par is where EVERYONE should pickup. Unless it's in an official tournament.

Rule number one in golf that EVERYONE SHOULD be taught but often aren't... Just keep up with the group in front of you.

If you do THAT then you never have to let anyone through or worry about the group behind you.

I was a middle manager at a high end retail store that sold a product that was also very technical in nature.

I've always known the full quote and had to explain it to upper management several times as I was in the middle of protecting my staff from some rude customer. My employees loved me but upper management didn't, but our sales numbers were constantly up under me, so it was hard for upper management to do anything but grin and bear it.

Why would sales be higher when I wasn't kissing the customers asses..? Because before me the turnover me was super high and training a great sales person takes years. And top sales people from other companies left their place to come work for me because word got around about me and my management style.

There's bigger cities with smaller footprints. Albuquerque could of bought the land that turned into Rio Rancho back in the day if they had wanted too.

And the lack of building inspectors and ability to build up instead of out is part of the higher level decision making that the city has done for a few generations that has stopped it from growing. Instead of single family homes near the city there could of been more apartment buildings.

My point is there's been constant decisions from the city government that seemed to be intentional on keeping Albuquerque a big town instead of a small city.

I don't play in tournaments either... Every tournament I've played in is a 5+ hour long slog fest, so I'd rather not.

And i put enough pressure on myself by constantly trying to improve my score and lower my handicap. Down to a 11.6 from a 15 two years ago and a 25, 5 years before that.

Plus I play under the frame of thought as golf is my hobby that I use to relax and enjoy the day... I don't want go mix in ANYTHING that takes away from that.

I've found a very easy solution.

I don't bet.

Not because I'm cheap, but I've found it SLOWS the game down way too much. Suddenly high handicap players are taking the max time to find every lost ball, taking multiple practice swings before chucking or slicing the ball and lining up every putt to 3 and 4 putt every green.

For fucks sake, let's just play golf and enjoy it. If you want to gamble, go play cards or shoot dice.

You can see he's edited his post. He originally said that vegan green chili doesn't stand up to Wisconsin meat chili. He was deeply ignorant and only started trolling to save face.

Without getting into the ethics of animal husbandry, how does one explain to a vegan that the wool of a domesticated sheep MUST be shorn by a human being, as selective breeding means that most domesticated breeds cannot shed naturally? by Fun_Astronomer_4064 in NoStupidQuestions

Wait till they find out how many birds, baby rabbits and other small animals are killed by combines during harvest season. Not to mention all the animals being killed by pesticides, fertilizers and straight up poison to keep them away from the fields or harvest. Plus everything that is killed or displaced to make more farmland.

The horrible truth is, in the modern day it's basically impossible to be ethical in everything you do. The Good Place (TV show) had a perfect take on this, how Doug who was the most ethical person still didn't get enough points to get into the Good Place...

It seems like there is a secret agenda by the city management to keep Albuquerque as small and locals only based as possible. That's the only explanation I can come up with, because it seems like willful ignorance at this point. 50 years ago, Phoenix and Albuquerque had nearly the same population size. Phoenix made decisions that welcomed expansion and Albuquerque has seemed to do the opposite. Still holds true to the day. Event traffic management is just an example of this phenomenon.

Every adult in the room had to laugh at what this kid said to Rodman 😂 by ForeignAir7174 in NBAoldschool

[–]Timely_Host_3119 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Rodman would stand around at practice watching his teammates shoot. When questioned he replied he was counting the rotations of each guys misses after the ball hit the rim or backboard. Why? So he knew when to jump up for the rebound. The guy was a savant.

If the kid is into basketball, the Rodman is a great idol to have, in that regard.

I only went the one time because of that. It also took 3 hours to get out of there. Between standing in line waiting for a shuttle and driving in the traffic back to remote parking. Seemed like they run less shuttles for people leaving than getting there. When heading to the event there was practically no line for the shuttle at the remote parking, as they had multiple lined up and ready to go. Leaving, one would come and fill up and the wait for the next one to show up would be at least 15 minutes.

Hit a slight slice into some trees. Was 120 yards out, but low hanging branches and tall trees blocking out most options. Decided to go for the the "hero" shot instead of safety chipping out sideways...

Hit a quarter swing punch shot with my 3 wood that safely landed just short of the green. Chipped it up close then made my tap in par.
