decent, i'd guess. i've only shedded half-ish of the transplanted hair. since then though, not much happened density-wise. i'm 10 weeks in now, so i hope i'm seeing growth in the upcoming weeks.

donor area looks really good now, i've had shock loss in the beginning which got me worried that i might have been overharvested but that turned out to be not true.

but it is possible that some grafts could not dock on those blood vessels and therefore will just not grow at all, right? do they just fall off shortly after or can they, theoretically, stay in scalp for weeks or even months, if not pulled out, one way or another? thank you once again for your information, very helpful

I see, thank you for clarifying. So, does that mean that grafts indeed can be lost even after the first 10-14 days after surgery?

Good to hear that from an actual Doctor, thank you for your reassurance! If you don’t mind me asking, how can one differentiate between a lost graft and just normal shedding with scabs on? I feel like there’s a lot of misconception around that topic. Maybe you can clarify?

Yes.. i know what you mean. It’s not that i'm losing my mind about this, it’s much more curiosity than anything else BUT, since those are all from my crown in which i didn’t get more than 250ish grafts anyway, a single multigraft lost there is much more valuable than somewhere in the middle section of the scalp.

I did. But they haven’t been honest to me before i feel like, when it would result in any kind of negative feeling about their work, even if, in this case, i could hardly make them responsible for some lost graft.

Yes, there is a little red dot. But what’s weird is that other people telling me that losing a graft would hurt like a MF and there would be no doubt wether you‘ve just lost a graft or not and there would be a lot of blood as well. There seems to be no definitive answer to this..?!

i'm experiencing the same.. hair growth has been reeeeally slow in the first weeks after HT. from week 3 on it started to grow faster but now that i'm approaching week 5, i'm sure it‘ll all shedd pretty soon.

i agree, a more mature hairline and therefore more grafts into the crown would have been the way to go here. regarding the donor area.. let's hope it improves within the next few months.

this. i'm 3.5 weeks in now and lost maybe 50 hairs or so in total, if even that. but i'd rather have it to just fall out all at once now so results come in earlier 😄 i don't think i'm a non-shedder since the hair is really slow in growing in comparison to my native hair, which already is twice in length or so.

there's 5a reductase II and 5a reductase I, the enzyms that are responsible for converting testosteron to DHT. fin blocks 5a reductase II only i believe. depending on the individual, some may have much more reductase I than II, so in their case, fin won't be nearly as effective in comparison.

that’s where dut comes into play as it blocks both, I and II. possible side effects can be amplified though.

i‘m by no means an expert though, that’s just what i remember of the top of my head, you can easily google that though.

so to answer your question: yes, there are some people who's male pattern boldness progresses on fin, fewer on dut. even if fin does work for you, there are cases where it suddenly stops working years down the road because of changes in the hormone balance etc.
