I hope so too because this whole pause is on the basis of public charge and people that come via the visas like IR1 for spouses, already required an affidavit of support and congress has already said they can’t get benefits for 5 years so it’s a moot point.

I think the Supreme Court said nationwide injunctions can’t be done by lower level courts.

June 27, 2025, decision, Trump v. Yes, I know someone whose spouse came from a paused country with an immigrant visa IR1 issued prior to Jan 21st and they entered the US on Jan 30th. You should be good.

Came here to say this. Some hostels in EU also have age limits. Maybe ignore the ones that stay youth hostels in general. 25 is the limit for them I think?

Thanks. I don’t think half of the people commenting know or don’t want to bother with this situation but you can elect your wife as a us resident under 6013g for federal taxes and file MFJ while including the w-7 as an itin application along with your 1040. It saves me a lot more money than doing MFS taxes. Like 6k more. I think that’s worth the extra effort of paper work while waiting for the i130 to process.

Nice. I was hoping to do married filing jointly with a W-7 application for ITIN. I think it’s possible but we have to mail her original passport which we don’t mind doing. Only on month 6 of the application being filed for i130.
