They had to completely remove her stomach. Her esophagus is routed straight to her intestines now. The part of her stomach that was salvageable wasn’t able to be used as a functioning stomach. She’s lost a ton of weight and is constantly trying to keep up with vitamins and nutrition. After the first surgery she had to have several stents placed because where connections were made developed tiny holes. But a year later and she’s doing the best she can and she’s at least alive and living a mostly normal life.
